SAV Comment – As Danica says below; not the start to a new year that anyone wants. But saying this, we know that as you can see, little Tik finally got to know love, warmth and a tummy full of food, all thanks to Danica who has to be admired by us all for her dedication to helping felines in Serbia.
Below we are showing some pictures of Tik when being cared for by Felix shelter.
We all strongly hoped that this year would not begin with heartbreak but sadly, our wonderful and audacious little Tik gave up the ultimate struggle for life.
He was just too small and too weak and he ultimately came to the point where his exhausted body simply couldn’t carry on. Possibly he got tired of fighting a desperate but apparently hopeless fight that seemed to last forever, and it was easier for him to just let go.
He fought the hardest he could, we did everything we could, but sometimes not even everything is good enough.
Fly free now, my sweet little angel, I know we’ll meet again one day 😦

Bear baiting is allowed in South Carolina, USA.
It’s a shame for our beautiful country!
Published on May 20, 2014
We normally see bear baiting in under developed countries like Pakistan and others. It is a shame and it is against Islam. See what the Glorious Quran and Islamic Texts say about this: http://www.answering-christianity.com…. I’ve criticized it strongly in the past.
But to my surprise, bear baiting is also allowed in South Carolina, USA. It’s a shame that even in the United States of America, such animal cruelty is allowed in one of its states.
You’d think that the USA is the leading example for the entire world as it should be. And the USA for the most part is indeed a good and beautiful leading example.
But this evil practice of animal abuse is something that stains the image of our great country.

SAVE WOLVES, OLD-GROWTH FORESTS AND OUR CLIMATE
A unique Alaskan wolf species is being driven extinct by the clearcutting of its old-growth forest home. These same forests trap enormous amounts of carbon, slowing down global warming.
The federal government is considering listing this wolf as an “endangered species” to save it from reckless logging and hunting. This will also help slow global warming.
Alaska is home to some of the last, best old-growth forest on Earth.
By saving the forest we can save our climate too.
Please sign the petition below urging the government to protect the wolf and its old-growth forest home.

Enjoy the firework display in Ol’ London Town from last night – 31st December 2014:
In addition; we have been sent these excellent videos from Vesna in Serbia.
I am sure you will find the footage absolutely fantastic – as a self confessed ‘wolf a holic’; I especially love the wolf video. Does this not show that these beautiful animals need to have protection from the guns of man ? – this video further increases my determination to help in the fight to get respect and justice for these animals.
America; if you kill them all off and hunt them to extinction, then there are some very serious questions to answer for future generations.
Watch the amazing videos here:
Conquest of paradise:

Dance of wolves:
Thanks Vesna.
Regards Mark.

Please share and help if you can!
Fiona arrived at the shelter about four years ago. She was one of 17 strays which had been living in a joint yard in my hometown where their caretaker was feeding them and taking care of them the best she could. That is until a cat hating neighbor hired two brutes to round up all of the cats, put them into bags, take them away and probably kill them.
All 17 cats found their safe haven here at the shelter and have been living nice, quiet and safe lives ever since, Fiona among them. She wasn’t exactly people friendly, understandably, but she’s mellowed a little over the years.
A few days ago she started to behave strangely, she was somehow too quiet and it turned out she had seriously hurt her left hind leg. Nobody has any idea what had happened, but her paw was smashed and the vet had no other choice but to amputate, which was done two days ago.
The costs of surgery and postoperative treatment will be huge, around the 250 euro mark (a little more than $300 USD) and with so many kitties to take care of, we simply can’t pay them off on our own.
Please, help this gorgeous girl who’s already been through so much!
Tripod cats can have full, quality lives and she will have that for sure, once she adjusts to walking on three legs.
Whatever you are able to give really means a lot for her!
