Happy 2018 Everyone – Have a great year campaigning
– with many BIG positives on the horizon.
For us, and as further determination to improve in 2018, the major victory of the year 2017 lies with the incredible Jill at Animals Asia and the signing of an agreement with the Viet Nam government to free every single bile bear in the country (0ver 4,000 bears) and give them all new cruelty free homes at AA sanctuaries. Read more on this at:
That without doubt can be considered the major animal event of the year. There are many more; people ditching meat and taking up a cruelty free lifestyle instead; animals in circuses; the great news we have just had here in the UK that the government will not consider a free vote on the return to hunting. So much more good news !
So much has been achieved, but there is still so much to do. But it can, and will be achieved. Nowdays, with the use of computer systems and instant global audiences being at fingertips, news, campaigns and actions can be undertaken within a few seconds of events happening. This is how it is now and how the future will be – animal abusers will continue to be exposed and as with the UK government, they (governments) will be driven into a corner where they have no option but to do what the people, their voters, want. Democracy is powerful, ok !
Lets make this drive to get governments to listen and act positively for the animals who have no voice our determination for 2018.
On such days and as the old year goes on, the need to determine and evaluate who we are, will become more pressing.
Saying “we”, who do we mean?
I want to explain it, so that no one complains and reproaches me that I have not sent him any New Year’s wishes.
As far as my wishes are concerned, they do not follow a conventional hypocrisy, and that’s why I will not address everyone.
I appeal to us.
To those who fight, because they want to change a system of violence, of crime, to change a system of tyranny against the animals.
I turn to those who, with every means, every force, help to build a new future for the animals, without blood, without slavery.
I turn to the enemies of slaughterhouses and concentration camps, to the enemies of a fur, leather, hunting.
To the saviors of the strays, to the brave ones who are not afraid to show the animal killers.
It is not another world view, or any other opinion that separates us from the others.
What makes us different is about an advanced ethic, an ethic for animals, which is confirmed every day by our struggle, the fight for the liberation of animals, for the liberation of animals from tyranny, and the brutal exploitation of others.
We are few, but we are organized, determined, and we are not tired.
We are the progress against the anachronism.
To all of us I send my warmest wishes for a year full of health, strength and courage.Venus
HAVE A GREAT NEW YEARS DAY !
‘Boom Boom, Bang Bang; Lie Down Your Dead’
…… ‘They build them a home’
its called ‘EU Brussels’
A place where nothing is progressive when it comes to animal welfare.

Austria: Mensdorff-Pouilly * lets trained captive breeders shoot.
VGT has filed a criminal complaint.
I translate directly from Martin Balluchs blog; the corresponding video is added:
“Incredible what the pictures in this video show!
The hunting assistants and hunting overseers of Mensdorff-Pouilly not only buy tame breeding ducks from Hungary and place them in their artificial duck pond, but they also train them with the whistle pipe.
Like a “rat catcher”, the hunting helper goes with the ducks in the back to an aviary for feeding. There, the ducks, which are to be the victims for the next hunt, are selected and locked in the aviary.
Then the hunters position themselves in front of the artificial duck pond and the ducks are driven out of the aviary and startled.
On the return to the pond the hunters shoot them from the air!
This approach is of course illegal and animal cruelty.
The authority knows it, but nobody has done anything – for decades!
Now VGT (the association against animal factories) has filed a complaint.
It is a primitive, infantile hunting fun that is driven by someone, behind whom the entire hunt stands. That specified the district hunter master “.
My comment:
At the moment, the activist Martin Balluch comes more often in the media of Austria as the Prime Minister. He acts against the hunt and he has made possible that the gate hunting in Austria will soon be abolished.
Best regards
Venus

2017 is almost over. We are grateful to all of our supporters who have taken actions throughout this year to campaign against the horrendous cruelty of South Korea’s dog and cat meat trade. Your time and effort are not wasted. We are making a difference, even though the changes cannot come fast enough. In 2018, we will continue to do whatever we can to be the voice for the millions of animals horribly treated and killed in the South Korea’s dogs and cat meat industry.
We have campaigns asking the Olympic teams to take a stand and speak out against the cruel dog and cat meat trade in South Korea, the host of the 2018 Winter Olympics (PyeongChang 2018). There are several ways you can help fight this cruelty:
1) by signing and sharing our petitions;
2) by sending protest letters and emails;
3) by raising awareness of this brutal and barbaric practice and calling for an end to the trade by exposing this issue in social media.
Below are new campaigns.
Please click each to take action TODAY. Thank you!
Our Thunderclap campaign has been bi-monthly but during the PyeongChang 2018 (February 9-25) Olympic, it will be launch daily. So please keep joining and sharing! Only cost for you is your 2 seconds of time for clicking. Thank you! Click HERE to join now.

Brilliant news – no free vote in the House, and so to all purposes, the Hunting Act will now stand no chance of being repealed to return to hunting with hounds. Talk in the pub about it tonight – everyone happy that British wildlife is safe from those in the pinks (Redcoats).
A new poll reported by The Independent today shows that 85 per cent of the public support maintaining the current ban on hunting with hounds.
Public opposition to fox hunting remains at an all-time high, new polling figures released today reveal.
Polling carried out by Ipsos MORI1 commissioned by the League Against Cruel Sports, found opposition to the legalisation of ‘blood sports’ – the hunting of foxes, hare and deer – remains high across Great Britain, with 85% of the public in support of keeping the ban on fox hunting, including 81% of people living in rural areas.
The polling figures come at the end of a turbulent year for hunting, where the Government’s announcement to offer a free vote on repealing the Hunting Act triggered a public outcry, causing the issue to become one of the most talked about during the election, and the National Trust also coming under fire for continuing to allow trail hunting on its land.

To take a short break from animal issues, we considered that it may be worth showing you our ‘local patch’ in Kent, England. Central London is about 25 miles away, so our area is pretty natural considering we are so close to one of the major cities of the world.
In the first video above you can take a cold, Winter morning bike ride through rather flat and uninteresting (just purchased|) Jeskyns land which is not yet planted up with trees; you then carry on up through the narrow roads of Cobham village, which is located very near to us. Note – we drive on the left, so do not worry if it seems strange to some of you !
Here is a bit more about Cobham – famous as a haunt for Charles Dickens the Author.
He used to drink in ‘The Leather Bottle’ inn which you can see in the video. A beautiful pub which we have enjoyed a beer in many times !
We are not religious, but there are some rather special places linked with the church – again see them in the video.
The ride then continues through our wonderful natural wooded areas until it reaches the Cobham Mausoleum – burial site for a dynasty from the past; which is located in a woodland area (owned by the Woodland Trust) and which has just undergone a major re vamp restoration by several natural parties.
The final video below shows Jeskyns as it is more recently, planted up with many trees growing and doing fine. The Forestry Commission (England) purchased the (bare farming) land around 10 years ago and since then we have become more involved and seen thousands of trees planted there. Dogs and their walkers can really enjoy the huge space and acres of woodland to walk through. Before you get back in your car to leave, you can grab a cuppa and bite to eat in the Jeskyns Café, and also pick up some produce such as apples from the Jeskyns orchards.
The Jeskyns orchards produce over 750 different varieties of apple.
Enjoy our patch ! – go up the road to London town, or stay here and chill out !SAV.
