Please share and help if you can!
Life hasn’t been kind or easy for this lovely kitty girl so far.
She probably had an owner once, as she’s much too docile and loving for a fully-grown stray, but she somehow ended up on the street and ultimately under the wheels of a car.
Her pelvis is broken, her lower vertebrae are out of place and she was just lying still when she was brought to the shelter, although she was able to hold onto her hind legs a little. She also had a huge hematoma in her bladder and had been peeing blood for days.

Chances are that her broken bones will be allowed to heal spontaneously, but it’s also possible she’ll need surgery – we’ll know more after another vet exam, scheduled for the end of the week. In the meantime, she is resting in her cage, surrounded by her new kitty friends.
We need a lot of help to provide her with everything she’ll need during her lengthy recovery, like high quality food, vitamin supplements and diapers, to name just a few.

After all she’s been through, it’s about time her life takes a turn for the better, don’t you think?

Sorry we haven’t been posting much lately, (although we wish we could), we’ve had many problems over the last few months.
We’d really like to thank all of our wonderful and caring friends who are helping us, even if we don’t have enough time to regularly ask for the help which is always needed and more than welcome.
Our urgent appeal for the funds required to feed the kitties and pay off the vet bills was launched in mid-April, but we’re still more than $800 short.
Please share and help if you possibly can, every little bit counts!
All of the kitties in the shelter are safe and loved for life, but they do need help.

Please check out all the posts and appeals on SAV Facebook:

Here is just one typical story;
Eli was kept in a city pound on a very short chain – The chain was so short that she couldn’t reach the dog house.
She was rescued, taken to safety and to the vet for a full assessment. It took her some time to recover, but NOW she is a happy and healthy girl. Under the loving care of volunteers, Eli has blossomed in a true golden retriever beauty and she is as lovable as a Goldens can be.
This is what Eli has to say:
” Hi my name is Eli, I’m here with my friends and it is so safe and nice. They are so kind and loving. They say that I am the kindest, most gentle and loving girl EVER!!!
That I am a perfect dog for the perfect family….
Life is beautiful and I love every minute of it.
I love people, other dogs, children, everyone!.
They say that I am pretty close to perfect!“……..
Eli is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, she has passport – just in case ….
We are looking for a loving home, where Eli is going to be loved forever and ever . Please SHARE

And a link to shelter Alex Subotica;

The shelter was opened on 28/01/2003 during the time when Subotica legally permitted euthanasia of dogs and on Fridays people could bring their dogs to be euthanized for free.
This is the first no-kill shelter in Serbia.
The shelter covers the area of 12000m2 + an additional land next to the shelter (approx. 3600 m2) that still isn’t fenced nor used.

Currently in the shelter there are more than 500 dogs.
Around 70% of the dogs are old (some have been in the shelter since 2003/2004).

There are only 2-4 people taking care of the shelter and its dogs.
The shelter is funded exclusively by donations, which are not regular or reliable.

The shelter requires building materials, cleaning supplies, food (granules and canned food, salami, bread, etc), blankets, fleas/ticks products and money to cover the vet costs, bills, etc.

There is a lot to see from Animals Asia as they (today – 5/5/15) undertake the first sea rescue of 2 ex bile farm bears. Please click on the links below to get a livetime update of the days happenings as they happen.. At the moment the bears have now made their boat journey and have arrived on the mainland.
They will journey through the afternoon; stop overnight and then arrive at a new life at the sanctuary tomorrow – 6th May.
As always, a superbly professional series of updates from AA; keeping all their global friends and supporters updated all the time with what is happening. Check it all out !

Join our Vietnam team on first sea rescue
LIVE: The team have made it back to dry land with their precious moon bear cargo. So many stories today. Our most incredible rescue yet of Sam and Simon – on our founder Jill Robinson’s birthday. The last rescue for vet nurse Julie. The first for Toan – joining as part of the hort team.
For the tens of thousands of you who signed the petition to free the Halong Bay Bears. You did this. And this is just the start. There are 36 more bears coming.
-
bears loaded up and headed for Halong City where they’ll stop the night.
-
Sanctuary tomorrow.
– bears won’t arrive in sanctuary till tomorrow but vet Joost looking happy:

Dear Mark,
– a male and female – from a remote island just north of Halong Bay, Vietnam on Tuesday, May 5.
The rescue from Ba Mun Island will be the first time our team has performed a rescue at sea, and without a doubt it will be our most challenging yet.
We’ve rescued over 120 bears in Vietnam, but have never faced a challenge like this one. The remote location, the potential dangers of travelling at sea, a lack of developed facilities and the potential poor health of the bears will make this a huge challenge.
The male bear is reported to be weak, with restricted movement, and clear scarring and an open wound on his back.
This rescue will be the first of many after the Quang Ninh authorities’ recent decision to transfer all 38 captive moon bears in the province to our rescue centre – making the province bear bile farm free. These bears include the last of the bears still trapped on bile farms at Halong Bay.
We can’t wait to get these two bears home to the care they so urgently need.
Join them on their journey to freedom on our website, Facebook or Twitter. And as you follow these lucky bears home, please consider giving a little to their rescue and recovery.
We hope to be back at our Tam Dao sanctuary by Wednesday afternoon.
Dr Tuan Bendixsen
Vietnam Director

Lina’s Animal Rescue is organisation for animal welfare from Serbia.
We have 20 dogs in small private unfinished shelter, 20 dogs in 2 boarding kennels and 14 kitties in one rescuers home.
Funds are desperately needed to pay the boarding kennel fees. We have debt for March for 16 dogs and now unpaid April for 16 dogs.
We are desperate, those dogs can not go again on the street. The life of street dogs everywhere is difficult, but here in Serbia the dog catchers kill them rather than rescue them.
Finding homes is very difficult as the culture in Serbia is not to adopt dogs, but rather buy a puppy then turn it out in the streets later when it is grown. Those dogs urgent need help.
Each dog’s boarding fees are 60€ per month ( 40 boarding kennel + 20 food ) . With 20 dogs currently in boarding facilities, the debt is too great to even think about renovating our shelter.
They depend only on help from good people.
Please share our story and donate, this is URGENT APPEAL !
Thank you !
