Trailer Released For Hotly Anticipated Vegan Documentary ‘Dominion’
The film will expose the brutal reality of factory farming
The trailer for a highly-anticipated animal rights documentary has been released.
Dominion is the new film by Chris Delforce from organization Aussie Farms, who previously made movie Lucent.
Feature length
Dominion, which is a feature-length documentary, will focus on how animals are used and abused in Australia.
According to a spokesperson for Aussie Farms: “By exploring six primary facets of our interaction with animals – Pets, Wildlife, Scientific Research, Entertainment, Clothing and Food – the film will question the morality and validity of our dominion over the animal kingdom.”
Footage
They added: “Drawing heavily from the Aussie Farms Repository so as to contain the most recent, highest-quality footage from across the country, Dominion will also make use of emerging technologies, such as aerial drones, to capture new perspectives and examine the wider context of animal exploitation upon our landscape and within our society.”
The documentary was partly crowdfunded, with donors giving $19,000. In December 2015, animal protection institute Voiceless gave the filmmakers a grant.

Great News for Bees.
Mark,
Great news: The European Commission just announced they won’t greenlight the Bayer Monsanto merger.
And you made it happen!
You and thousands of SumOfUs members around the world bombarded Commissioner Vestager with tweets, emails and postcards raising the alarm about this merger. And Vestager just replied directly to you, saying she shares your concerns.
She’ll now open an in-depth probe of the merger. This will take months — and gives us more time to stop the merger once and for all.
SumOfUs members like you opposed this merger from the very beginning — and built up one of our strongest campaigns ever: more than 700,000 of you signed our petition. And with your donation, we were able to pay for: Congressional hearings, our own people-powered lobbyist, and a legal White Paper that proves that this merger is illegal.
But we didn’t stop there: Thanks to your financial support we even took over the whole politico.eu homepage and pressured decision makers in Brussels with our ads. Check them out:
Bayer and Monsanto wanted the EU to quietly approve their merger. But you didn’t let that happen. You ramped up our campaign and pressured the Commission to first extend its review, and then finally open an in-depth investigation.
This is a crushing defeat for Bayer and Monsanto — but our fight is far from over. In fact, we will need to work harder than ever in the upcoming months to stop their plans. But with this victory, you have proven once again how strong our community is. And I have no doubts that together, we will stop this merger for good.
Thank you so much for all that you do,
Anne and the team at SumOfUs
When it comes to animal rights Egypt is renowned globally for a less than promising record.
Horses and camels play an important part in Egypt’s tourism, many families depend on them for their survival, still these working animals are being mistreated.
Animals such as cart and riding horses and camels are being brutally beaten, neglected and whipped as they cart loads of tourists around the pyramids. They are forced to work in the extreme heat without shelter, food or water supply for 20 hours every day and facing a long agonizing life.
They have medical diseases and conditions and obvious, untreated giant flesh wounds (see photo above) under their saddles and still being ridden. Undoubtedly, they demonstrate distress and are worked or starved to death.
This area is „Hell on Earth” for carriage horses and camels. This horror must be stopped now.
Stopping the misery would surely benefit not only the working animals in Giza but would raise awareness of the importance of animal rights as a topic in Egypt in general.

The Cold Truth About Man’s Best Friend.
SAV Comment:
For years, maybe decades; animal welfare people and groups have been trying everything to stop the Iditarod sled race. Major sponsors have been targetted in their hundreds with e mail campaigns etc.
Always the same response – that everything is ok and that all the dogs are looked after very well. Well maybe this new movie will blow the lid off this race and the world will see what we have campaigned about for years. A cruel race with untold amounts of animals suffering
It will be interesting, after this is made public; to see what the response of the ‘no problems’ corporate sponsorship organisations are. Will they stop sponsorship or will they continue ? – will the race continue ?

UPDATE 21/8/17 – Major sponsor pulls out of Iditarod:
SAV. We have had the following in from Venus in Germany. The German General Election is in September; but whatever your political bias; things are not looking very positive for animals and their welfare. We share in the despair – no better with Trump in the US; the EU does nothing positive; just people looking after their own interests – not even considering others !
But the fighting and campaigning will go on regardless.
The following is the in edited message from Venus:
Dear Mark,
the association animal public e:V has made a survey to the five parliamentary parties.
They wanted to know how these parties were thinking about animal protection, and what they would decide about the lives of millions of animals. So that the German citizen knows who to give his voice to.
I find the results catastrophic, especially from the parties, which unfortunately and most likely will come to the coalition.
Just for reference, here is another of our recent posts and why Venus will not vote – have a look:
On September 24, the federal elections are held in Germany.
The association animal public.e.V has sent a list of ten questions to all parties which are expected to move into the Bundestag, with a request to tick with “yes” or “no”.
Some of these questions were in the past the subject of petitions here in Germany, which were ignored by the Merkel government.
Sure, many animal protectionists remember how many petitions and demonstrations for the ban on wild animals in circus we have done. Without success.
The parties in order, are:
Christian Democrats (Conservatives),
the Socialists,
the Liberals,
the Left and
the Greens.
The extreme right did not answer.
The questions were:
ban on wild animals in circuses,
the end of the dolphinariums,
amendment of the Hunting Act,
import ban on wild animals for private purposes,
prohibiting commercial animal exchanges,
positive list for the private keeping of wild animals,
recognizing the fundamental rights of great apes,
the right to legal action for animal welfare associations,
Federal Commissioner for animal welfare,
amendment of the zoological legislation.
One notices of the many “no” of the strongest parties of Germany that after the elections everything will be like before the elections, namely absolutely nothing new and certainly nothing good for the animals.
I predict a stupid and harmful coalition between Merkel and Schulz, and this will also be fatal consequences not only for Germany, but for many other countries of Europe that are politically and economically dependent on Germany. Because Germany is Europe.
Above – Merkel;
Below (left) – Schultz – the other person is Junker – Mr EU.
And there will be no good for the animals. The only parties who have responded with the most “yes” are “the Left” and the “Greens”; But the first has no power, and the second has not shown any political fairness.
I really do not know who is hoping for something good against animal suffering and the animal miseries in Germany with these elections. I certainly do not!

From ‘Free Tibet’ – London.
Imagine being snatched from the street or even your home. You are loaded into a police car and driven to an unknown location. Your friends, colleagues and family don’t know where you are. Nor do you. It is like you have disappeared from the face of the earth.
Enforced disappearances are designed to punish Tibetans who resist or fall foul of the occupation, and to scare other Tibetans away from opposing the occupation or freely expressing their culture. Today Free Tibet is launching our new In The Dark campaign by highlighting six of these enforced disappearances. For each, we have listed some important strategic actions that you can complete online right now, in order to pressure the authorities into releasing them.
Click below to learn about their cases and see how you can help.
These six prisoners are just the first stage of our new campaign to bring public attention to this cruel and oppressive practice. To learn more about enforced disappearances, Tibet’s hidden prisoners and our campaign, visit our website. The Chinese authorities want to hide these prisoners from the world. We are determined to find them, shine a light on their cases and push for their release. We hope that you will join us in making a stand for Tibet’s hidden prisoners.
