An Unforgettable Story From Venus – ‘And Here Is My Family’ !

I want to thank Venus for sharing her wonderful experience with us all.

Hi Mark,

That is the story with the fox, which I had promised you to send.

Best Regards

Venus

In the village where I live, in southern Germany in the middle of the Black Forest, I am surrounded by “wild” animals.

We have formed a group of four people, and we feed the wildlife. Above all, we want to save foxes, which are hunted most in Germany.

Two years ago, in the area where I was responsible, I always saw a fox at night. When I went up to the mountain she was there, I could see her eyes in the dark and when it was full moon, she herself too. She was waiting for me, she knew the time, animals have an inner clock.

In that evening I came home late. It was a polar night, – 15 C showed the thermometer and we had full moon. I quickly carried my boots, took the pot with the food and came out. Nothing moved, it was an absolute silence, the snow was ice under my feet and reflected everywhere a hard, white light.

I slowly came up the mountain. Just before I reached the accustomed place, I stopped! There were not only two eyes to be seen, there were 10 or maybe more. Except eyes, I could see nothing else. What was that? I wondered. A herd perhaps? I dared a few steps forward. And then, under the moonlight I could see that not only the fox was there, but her whole family.

She had brought her whole family this evening to introduce them to me. For a few minutes we all remained motionless, the little ones too. They were beautiful, incredibly beautiful. Perhaps the mother made the first night-expedition with them, which belongs to the training! Maybe she wanted to introduce me her whole family. No one dared to take the first step. I decided to take some steps backwards. I slowly emptied the pot of food on the snow and took the path back.

A few weeks after this incident, the food in the forest remained untouched. It was clear, my fox was no more there. One of the men’s our teams said we must search the forest. Maybe he was shot, then we’d have to worry about the little ones. But we have not found a dead fox.

Today I still go up and still leave food there. One woman, neighbor of our small village told me that it is forbidden to feed wild animal and she will denounce me to the police.

I said she should do it. It is indeed forbidden, but this law have made some psychopaths who call themselves “hunters”, and have desire to kill.

I practice my law: “The measure of all things is the life, is not man” And my duty is to protect this life.

Dear Mark,

Primate Products, Inc. (PPI), a notorious Hendry County, Florida, primate dealer, imports, warehouses, and sells monkeys destined for experiments. PETA’s eyewitness investigation documented the abuse and neglect of monkeys at PPI, including Loretta.

Loretta plucked her own hair out, which is a sign of psychological distress that can be caused by inappropriate social groupings, social isolation, or rough handling.

USA: Wolves Being Pursued By Hunting Dogs In Wisconsin.

usa

es-logo

Mark,

Despite being protected under the Endangered Species Act, wolves in Wisconsin are chased, harassed, and sometimes wounded or even killed by packs of hunting dogs that run the state’s landscape for more than six months of the year. Bear “hounders” face few regulations and little to no enforcement when turning packs of dogs loose to pursue native wildlife.

These hounds are most frequently released at bear “baiting” sites. These are areas where hunters have dumped hundreds of gallons of stale pastries, syrup, or other foods with the intent of habituating bears to feed there. At last count, there were more than 82,000 baiting sites in the state! Not only is this practice disastrous for bears, and destructive to public lands–imagine dumping hundreds of gallons of syrup and rotting pastries in your favorite park–but it puts Wisconsin’s wolves in frequent conflict with packs of hunting dogs.

Help us fight the entrenched political interests that further this dangerous and unsporting hunting practice.

With more than 82,000 bait stations covering Wisconsin’s wild spaces, it is difficult for wolf packs to establish rendezvous sites that do not intersect with these pastry dump sites. Wolves are territorial, protective animals–it’s how they have survived for centuries. This same defensive behavior leads them to defend their packs and their pups from these hoards of bear hunting dogs running the state half of the calendar year. In protecting their rendezvous sites, these wolves are often wounded or killed, and often kill or wound dogs from the hunter’s pack. Hunters in the state are disincentivized to change their ways by a state program that pays them up to $2,500 for dogs lost to wolves safeguarding their pups, packs, and rendezvous sites. This has led to wolves and hunting hounds being killed and wounded at an unprecedented and alarming rate.

This is no way to protect Wisconsin’s wolves or any of its wildlife.  Anyone who loves wolves, anyone who loves dogs, should want to see an end to these practices. We are working on the ground in Wisconsin to stop bear hounding and the virtually-unregulated dumping of bait across the state. We need your help. Please make a 100% tax-deductible donation today to help us fight to end bear baiting and hounding to protect the state’s wolves.

Thank you for your commitment to wildlife and wild places.

Sincerely,

Leda Huta
Executive Director
Endangered Species Coalition

USA: 47 Wolves Dead So Far In Idaho’s Hunting Season.

wolf

Hi Mark

47 dead wolves — 45 shot, 2 trapped.

That’s the body count so far in Idaho’s grisly wolf-hunting season. Already at least 10 wolf families have been shattered.

And the anti-wolf zealots are howling with glee. On Facebook groups like “Fired Up!” they’ve been sharing photos of the bloody carcasses of their victims — calling wolves “ecoterrorists” and egging each other on to “fuel the helicopter and get rid of the vermin pests.”

With an estimated 786 wolves left in the entire state, Idaho wolves are in danger of being wiped out by killers whose mantra is “shoot, shovel and shut up.”

The Center for Biological Diversity is in a running fight to end these killings. With your donation to the Predator Defense Fund, we’ll do everything possible to save Idaho’s wolves.

Just recently we ended a disgusting predator-killing contest on federal land in Idaho and forced its wolf-hating governor, Butch Otter, to call off a state-sanctioned bounty hunter out to kill wolf families in the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. Now we’re suing to stop the government’s rogue animal-killing program, Wildlife Services, from gunning down and poisoning dozens more Idaho wolves.

These anti-wolf zealots also want to spread Idaho’s sick wolf-hunting regime across the country. The Center is now fighting a slew of sneaky congressional “riders” that would end federal protection of wolves in states like Minnesota and Wyoming. If we don’t stop them, wolf families from the Great Lakes to the Pacific will be hunted down and wiped out for the second time in a century. Wolf-haters don’t want a single wolf family left in the wild, and their partners in Congress have their backs.

But together we can fight and win for wolves. With your support the Center will keep working hard for these animals, from the courthouse to the statehouse to the halls of Congress. Give to the Predator Defense Fund and we’ll commit your gift to saving wolves in the wild.

We mourn the 47 wolves needlessly killed this season in Idaho. With you beside us we’ll work without cease to shut down brutal attacks on wolves everywhere.

For the wild,

Three years ago in the city where I live came a circus with wild animals.

Very quickly it became common that tigers, lions and even elephants were the prison inmates and everyone wanted to go.

We also wanted to go.

As protesters.

We had planned a direct demonstration before the circus tent.

Such a thing was risky, those who had demonstrated against this circus in other cities, knew it.

Therefore we had to be many, on this point we were all agreed.

Organizations, names, parties played no role.

No matter where everyone came from, many people would have to be the main thing.

The last level of participants in Facebook one day before was 20!

On the same day we were only four there !!

The policemen who wanted to protect us were more than us!

And that’s why we needed their help very quickly.

It was afternoon show on this day and the visitors wanted to buy a card.

The circus director, a giant of 1.90 and 100 kilograms, found that we had no right to break his legal business and asked the police to remove us.

The police said we had permission, the demo was approved, so they could not do anything to us.

Then the circus director wanted to beat an activist, but the police arrived in time to help.

On the same evening when I posted two photos from this -for me- miserable demo in Facebook, I thought about it for a long time.

I was angry because I was firmly convinced that we would had have more success if we were 20.

I was disappointed because I had expected responsibility and solidarity.

I was disappointed by my comrades.

Today, after three years I evaluate the animal protection to not so one-sided.

Meanwhile, in many countries wild animals are forbidden in the circus, and this is the merit not only of the persons who risk their lives before a circus tent.

But they are part of it.

The success was achieved by the petitions by the millions of petitions, the collective and private letters to ministers, the big demos by the cities, the media reports of all kinds.

The rights of the animals must be achieved by any means necessary.
