ENG: A dutch investor is planning to reactivate a former communistic factory farm for up to 67 000 pigs without daylight, fresh air nor straw in Hassleben, East-Germany. We ask the Federal State Environmental office of Brandenburg to reject Mr van Gennip’s application for such gigantic “farm” does not comply with European directives for the protection of pigs and it is against the dignity of animals. We appeal to your ethical and judicial judgment: Save the life of thousands of pigs. Do not suffer animals in such inhumane industrial conditions which also have an negative ecological impact to the environment due to well known pollution of factory farming.

DEU: Ein holländischer Investor plant im brandenburgischen Hassleben eine ehemalige DDR-Schweinezucht und -mast mit bis zu 67 000 internierten Tieren zu reaktivieren: Ohne Tageslicht, Frischluft oder Stroh. Wir möchten erwirken, dass das Landesumweltamt Brandenburg den Antrag von Herrn van Gennip ablehnt, da die Tierfabrik Europäisches Recht und vor allem die Würde des Tieres verletzt.Wir appellieren an Ihr ethisches und rechtliches Urteilsvermögen: Geben Sie dem Leben der Schweine eine Chance. Lassen Sie nicht zu, dass in Hassleben tausende Tiere in unwürdigen Verhältnissen gehalten werden und dort die Umwelt mit den bekannten Auswirkungen der Schweineintensivhaltung ruiniert wird.
