You did it again folks ! – the elephant calves have been saved from the ordeal of spending their lives in a Chinese zoo.
Our recent post –
Dear Mark,
The five wild-caught elephant calves due to be sent from Zimbabwe to Chinese zoos have been saved from a life of misery. They have been sent to a national park in Zimbabwe to be rehabilitated back into the wild.
Thank you for playing your part in this story and helping to convince the Zimbabwe authorities that these elephants deserve to live in the wild, not in captivity.
Thank you for supporting this campaign.

PS: This victory is bittersweet, as sadly four wild-caught elephant calves arrived in China in November 2012. One of these has already died. Animals Asia, in partnership with Humane Society International, is offering advice and support to the zoos housing the remaining three elephants in the hope that we can improve their living conditions
