Led by the brilliant Queen guitarist and animal rights campaigner, founder of the ‘Save Me’ campaign organisation – http://www.save-me.org.uk/ – Dr Brian May – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0kTblnz–Q , he was joined by beautiful girls, Hunt saboteurs, wildlife campaigners, animal welfare campaigners, Virginia McKenna, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_McKenna – founder of the Born Free Foundation (BFF – http://www.bornfree.org.uk/ ) , bird expert and wildlife conservationist from the BBC, Bill Oddie, and hundreds of other good people to voice their opposition to the government proposed badger cull which started on 1st June.

Brian’s Team Badger have made the following statement
“The Government’s determination to go ahead with the badger cull this summer once again proves how misguided and out of step with scientific fact and public opinion it is on this issue. Culling badgers is not the answer to eradicating bovine TB. Not only is the practice inhumane and impractical. It is also proven to be ineffective in tackling the disease, as has been made repeatedly clear by all the leading scientific experts.
“There is also a viable alternative: vaccination, which Team Badger, a growing coalition of like minded animal welfare organisations, is committed to, as made clear in our recent submission to the EFRA Committee. Team Badger strongly condemns the Government’s support for this barbaric policy and we remain committed to working together and with others to stop the cull going ahead.”
