Above all false talk about the alleged ecological necessity of the hunt (if we really care about the environment, we would have to start somewhere else, for example, by car traffic!) we should not forget one thing: the hunt is an uninterrupted, indescribable terror against animals.
After such a cowardly attack on the innocent and the defenseless, there is pure terror and pure panic in the forest: children are desperately looking for their parents, parents are desperately looking for their children and an end to the massacre is not in sight.
Once the hunters have climbed into their bloodlust, the killing knows no bounds.
It is difficult to find a reasonably adequate comparison for this unique terror against animals. Nevertheless, I try: A peaceful Easter Sunday, people go out into nature, they talk, the children play and everyone is happy about the wonderful weather. And suddenly a terrorist group ambushes and sets up a gruesome bloodbath.
Of course, this comparison is immensely limp: for humans, such attacks are the extreme exception, for animals they are the terrible rule. And for people, after such a robbery comes the rescue to care for the injured.
In animals, the killers return to shoot the survivors.

In a move that could further imperil Africa’s already endangered elephants; the Trump administration will now ALLOW the import of elephant hunting trophies to resume.
The move comes as the administration establishes a taxpayer funded advisory council, stacked with die-hard trophy hunters, that will advise on how to promote the killing of more imperiled species; such as elephants and lions; for alleged ‘sport’.
In November 2017, the Interior Department announced plans to reverse the Obama-era ban on elephant trophy imports from Zimbabwe. Originally, Trump tweeted (as always !) and called elephant hunting a ‘horror show’. It appeared that he was going to keep the ban in place. But by March this year, the administration had reversed course again, quietly deciding to consider permits for trophy imports on a case by case basis.
Not only did the administration slip its reversal announcement under the radar, but its new process for approving trophy hunting is entirely shielded from public view. With such a cosy relationship between the administration and the trophy hunting groups (like Safari Club International) and the NRA; it can be assured that the ‘case by case’ decisions are going to come down in favour of the hunters all the time. As Trumps sons Donald Jnr and Eric are so into sports hunting, the administrations oddly named ‘International Wildlife Conservation Council (IWCC) is packed with trophy hunting advocates.
Appointed members include the NRA’s director of hunting policy, a ‘celebrity hunter’ who co produced the reality tv show “Extreme Huntress’ and the co owner, with Trumps sons; of a hunting preserve in upstate New York.
In the meantime, the administration rejected scores of qualified candidates from the conservation community, including the NRDC Senior Attorney Andrew Wetzler; who is an expert in endangered species law; and a person who was backed by six other prominent conservation and animal welfare organisations.
So, letting a select committee comprised of trophy hunting interests decide the fate of elephants and other endangered species is a recipe for disaster.
As for Trump and ‘making America great again’; we at SAV doubt that the environmental organisations of the world will see this as anything but ‘great’; quite the opposite. Once again; the Trumps making sure that they personally do best from new policy, and stuff everyone else.

Recently, it was the butchers of France seeking protection from the government against militant vegans.
Does one remember?
Now it is the hunters in Germany who want to fight against aggressive animal rights activists !!
Is not it amazing, that just murderers are looking for protection?
And at the same time an insolence, that they, the murderers, put themselves in the place of a victim?
Anyone, who thinks that as a profession he can have someone else’s death, will always have us against him!
How hunters fight against aggressive animal rights activists (the item)
From the point of view of the animal activists of Peta and Animal-Rights-Watch hunting is prohibited as a hobby. An attitude that is promoted so publicly, that the hunter has now an absolute image problem. In the forest land region Thuringia, one does not want to take this any longer.
Millions of murderers, liars, lust killers!
This is how Steffen Liebig was already titled. He is the president of the Thuringian Hunting Association and says: “the anti-hunting activists have not become more – but their range is greater today and the tone rougher.
The hunters have therefore tightened the strategy on the past Federal Hunting Day.
Liebig explains:
“At the level of the German Hunting Association, where all regional hunting associations are represented, we are now massively against such slander”.
The hunters cannot leave something like that. Liebig describes this as a polemic and as an “attempt to discriminate against people.”
Especially on Facebook clubs such as PETA campaigns, such as against the fox hunt in Thuringia. 12,000 signatures came together – and probably also many donations for PETA.
(To help the hunters, of course, comes Merkel’s party (CDU) and because they are pretty poor in arguments, they try to get rich with dirty propaganda against activists and organizations.)
“Here, a pure animal welfare economy has developed that lives on making people bad, so that they can get donations”, says Egon Primas, CDU member of parliament
Hunters are displayed
The State Hunting Association also observes the strategy of radical animal rights activists to work on press releases. Then, for example, pastors would be contacted to cancel the huntable Hubertus Mess or hunters would be reported for their kills – that also often happens in Thuringia, according to Hunting President Liebig, “although they know that this is right, will be reported to the court and the hunters will have to fight to defend themselves, they may also incur costs, except for the trouble. “
So… what can be done against hatred for hunting?
The Ministry of Agriculture of Thuringia has the answer: The hunters should make better PR. State Hunting President Steffen Liebig, however, says it’s not easy. Finally, the hunters themselves are financed by membership fees.
But he has at least an explanation for hatred of hunters:
“because the German growing urban population has no own connection to nature, there is a particularly bad opinion about hunting; dictated by animal welfare organizations that have the money for this propaganda and can reach anyone over the Internet.
I find it incredible, with what arrogance this measly position of the 0.5% hunter wants to dictate to an 80 million people, what is nature or conservation, and wants to sell the shooting of animals as a hunt, though that is just sadistic violence!

Dear Mark,
We’re happy to share the exciting news that after pressure from PETA, Gucci has banned angora!
This is a monumental victory for angora rabbits, who are social and love to be together but often go insane in isolated, barren cages on angora farms, where their fur is painfully ripped out every three months.
Gucci joins the more than 330 other major brands around the world—including Anthropologie, ASOS, BCBG Max Azria, Calvin Klein, Gap, and Ralph Lauren—that have banned the cruelly obtained fiber.
Please take one more step to help rabbits tortured for fashion by urging Backcountry to ban angora.
The construction of three new airports in the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) has been announced as part of the Chinese government’s efforts to promote tourism and economic growth in the area.
Denise has very kindly come up with a recipe for scrummy cheesy wheesy dog biscuits. The idea is that we all get baking to make doggie biscuits – these are then going to be sold in the Jeskyns Café; where you get dozens of dog walkers each day stopping for a cuppa Rosie (Cockney for tea); and the proceeds from all the biscuit sales can go towards helping some shelters in Serbia.
Can you do something similar to raise funds ?
The ingredients are as follows:
2 cups of strong grated cheese;
3 cups of whole-wheat flour
6 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Approx 250ml of vegetable stock.
Egg wash (free range naturally !) and cheese to put on top of the biscuits.
How to make (about 20 biscuits):
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl using enough of the vegetable stock to make a pliable dough.
Roll out and cut into approx. 20 biscuits.
Use a cutter if required for special shapes (ie bones).
Place on a baking tray and put into the oven set to 200°C for around 20 minutes.
Vary cook time according to fan oven etc – watch them !
Job done ! – lots of doggie biscuits.
For anyone near to Jeskyn’s Café (North Kent) – ready made biscuits to be sold can always be delivered directly to the Café; where staff will take and add to the others for sale.
So get cooking and help raise funds to help our four legged friends in Serbia.

An eyewitness recently took photos of emaciated horses who are used to carry heavy tourist gear in Havasu Canyon, an offshoot of the Grand Canyon. The horses are in such bad condition that their ribs protrude. The eyewitness also saw exhausted horses struggling under the weight of overloaded packs.
The abuse endured by the horses, donkeys, and mules used as pack animals in Havasu Canyon is long-standing and severe. They’re forced to carry overloaded packs while being denied water, food, and rest. Eyewitnesses have even reported that horses have been forced to work with broken bones.
Please help by clicking the link below to urge tour company Arizona Outback Adventures to stop using animals to carry tourist gear.
