Chief of Police

Greetings,

DINOS KOUKOS’s Facebook Profile was brought to our attention after a
fellow animal advocate witnessed a profile pic of Dinos depicting the fact
he was to burn a kitten’s eyes. We in the animal community take such matters
very seriously , mainly for the fact we witness daily horrible abuses
brought upon our voiceless creatures, whom are living breathing vessels.and
can clearly, compitantly feel pain   ……

International: Please Make Sure You ‘Freeclick’ Every Day to Save Animals and the Environment. It Simply Takes Seconds to Make a Huge Difference.

Please try to make sure that you contribute every day to the Care2 ‘free click’ campaigns.

Each task takes just a matter of seconds to complete but can make such a difference to the animals in need – and if your free click is undertaken every day you can greatly, over time, contribute to helping animals in need around the world in so many different ways.

There are a selection of specific issues which you can contribute to including: helping seals, pets in need, protecting and feeding wolves, protecting and feeding primates, feeding big cats, protecting a small section of the worlds oceans and saving the rainforests.

For example, your daily (free) click to ‘save the rainforest’, will contribute in a small way to these efforts. If you freeclick every day or on a very regular basis, then over a matter of time, you will make a great difference in protecting a vital section of the world’s rainforests.

You may not feel that 7.4 ft.² of rainforest per day is much to protect via your daily click. But when you look at the facts and see that 8,925 acres of rainforest have been saved by freeclick contributions, it shows that you really can make a difference by giving just a few regular seconds of time at your computer.

We urge everybody to contribute as much as you can to these free click donation campaigns. Please try to remember that you are free to click every single day on what ever issue or issues concern you most.

Below and as a starter, you will find eight of the major animal and environmental links to each of these specific issues. As we have said, to contribute takes simply a matter of seconds.

Please try to remember to access each of these donation sites every day to give your contribution to protecting both animals and the environment for a better future.

Thank you.

SAV.

We want the House of Representatives to AMEND THE LAW to Prohibit Factory Farms in New Zealand
Our Animal Welfare Act 1999 is for the welfare of animals and NOT for the benefit of humans. It states that all animals should “be able to display normal patterns of behaviour”. Intensive farming occurs because of exemptions allowed in the Act. This is solely for economic self-interest within the industry.
This petition requests that the House of Representatives amend the Animal Welfare Act 1999 as follows:

1.      Remove Section 191. (These are “Codes of Conduct” allowing exceptions to the Act drafted by the users themselves, for their economic benefit).

2.      Remove Section 73 (3). (This clause is often used for exemptions “in exceptional circumstances”. i.e. it permits cruel practices for economic reasons).

3.      Update Section 4 (b) to: Adequate shelter: “which must not restrict freedom of movement nor confine animals indoors on a continuous daily basis”.

4.      Add to Section 4 a new clause (f): “Animals are recognised as sentient beings and are to be treated with respect”.

5.      Add to Section 4 a new clause (g): “Exemptions from this Act cannot be justified for economic reasons”.

6.      Specifically ban cages in the production of eggs and in the farming of pigs.

7.      Specifically ban practices that prevent adequate natural sunlight from being available to any farmed animal on a prolonged basis.

These updates will mean that the industries involved will have to comply within the definitions of the Act without exceptions. Some immediate effects will be the end of battery hen cages, the end of sow crates, the end of forced growth programs and overcrowding in the raising of broiler chickens.

USA: Petition to Stop Alligator ‘Wrestling’ in Florida – Please Sign

Although a dying attraction, the state of Florida still allows “Man VS Gator” wrestling to take place. The activity is just as it sounds — people take on live alligators in a live match for entertainment purposes. And the reality is the men are the only actual willing parties involved in this game, leaving the alligators to suffer.

While not all men use the same techniques when wrestling, all matches seem to generally repeat the same pattern: man drags gator to center of ring, jumps on it’s back and attacks until the animal loses consciousness. Many times, people use sticks to torment the animals or get a rise out of them. Getting an alligator to show his or her teeth to the crowd is always an added bonus.

Does this type of event sound appealing to you? Several feel it is time to put this decades-old tradition to rest for good.

Not only is the process unbelievably cruel to the animals involved, the idea of taking on a live alligator poses a huge threat for all people involved — wrestler and audience.

If you want to see an end to this form of “entertainment,”

sign this petition to ban alligator wrestling in Florida

Three eighth-grade students in Australia have been suspended from school after a teacher witnessed them beating a kangaroo to death with a metal pole.

The boys were part of a group from Torquay College that was attending a school sponsored three-day camping trip to the Great Otway National Park.  One of the teachers came across the eighth-graders “bashing the kangaroo” with a metal rod.

Dedicated local activists have been fighting for more than a decade to secure long overdue legislation to prevent cruelty and promote animal welfare in Thailand. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Animal Welfare Bill has finally made its long way to the final stage of the legislative process before submission to the parliament for consideration, but an agency of the government is showing no intention of returning the bill for submission to the parliament. The current term of parliament will end soon, and if the bill is not passed prior to that, the whole lengthy approval process will have to start again.
