Germany: Horse Petition – Please Support and Sign

Die dauerhafte Anbindung von Pferden entspricht NICHT einer artgemäßen Haltung nach §2 des Tierschutzgesetztes in Deutschland.

Tied in narrow stands, in many places horses must stare at the walls without enough movement. Under these circumstances the essential needs of the animal are ignored terribly. Apparently the welfare of the horses isn’t close to the government’s heart. In Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia horses still vegetate in the narrow stands and this legally! As scientific studies prove, more than half of the horses held in stands show serious behavioral disorders. Neither the need for movement, personal care and social contact can be satisfied nor can the horse lie down on the side which is essential for the deep sleep.

To tie a horse like that is in no agreement with §2 of the German animal-protection-law.

In schmalen Ständern angebunden, müssen Pferde vielerorts ohne ausreichend Bewegung die Wände anstarren. Unter diesen Haltungsbedingungen werden die essentiellen Bedürfnisse des Flucht- und Herdentiers sträflich missachtet. Scheinbar liegt nicht allen Landesregierungen das Wohl der Pferde am Herzen. In Bayern und NRW fristen immer noch Pferde ihr Dasein in den engen Ständern  und das ganz lega! Wie wissenschaftliche Studien beweisen, zeigen über die Hälfte aller in Ständern gehaltenen Pferde gravierende Verhaltensstörungen. Weder kann das Bedürfnis nach Bewegung, Körperpflege und Sozialkontakt gestillt werden noch können die in Ständern gehaltenen Pferde sich in die für den Tiefschlaf unerlässliche Seitenlage legen.

Sarah Palin is Cruella de Ville

As Alaska’s governor in 2007, Sarah Palin declared open hunting season on Alaskan wolves, offering a $150 bounty for each animal killed. This program drew cries of outrage from animal rights groups.
Palin, pictured below on the sofa in her office, enjoys hunting. The wolf kill is designed to increase the population of moose and caribou for sport hunters.
 
 

The problem is Palin allowed one of the worst kinds of wolf slaughter there is — aerial hunting, something even sport hunters believe is barbaric:

Aerial hunting of wolves is akin to the medieval demonization of wolves. A wolf howling at night is symbolic of wilderness. Killing an alpha wolf can disorganize an entire pack. I used to be a hunter, but I¹m completely against the aerial hunting of wolves.²

Kerala – Please Sign NOW !

This is an email from the sole fighter for animals in Kerala. Please read the email and you would yourself realise what the animals and she are going thru there. For your information I am attaching a few recent pics of the killings that happened there. I have a full uncensored video of the killing alos, which is beyond anyone’s imagination. Kerala is certainly a state full of killers. the local people alos have no compassion.
please also promote this petition as we need 1,00,000 signatures to be able to do something drastic, legally opposing the Kerala government and people who are doing these killings.

This is Avis Lyons founder of Animal Rescue Kerala:
The killing in Kerala still goes on .
On 4th Sept 08 our case against the Trivandrum Corporation (the council of the nearby city of Trivandrum)  comes up in the Munsiff court in Trivandrum.  It has been adjourned many, many times without us being able to get a stay order, so the killing goes on and on.
 
The dogs are picked up and held for hours and hours crushed together in the goverment rick shaw in temperatures of up to 40 degrees centigrade until they are taken off and killed.  I have this on very reliable information from someone who has seen the dogs in the rickshaw in Trivandrum, including dogs with collars and puppies.
 
I have seen the goverment rickshaw pass but am unable to do anything about the situation as I am out on bail for trying to get help to stop the dogs being picked up to be killed in my Memo of Understanding area.
 
On Sept 4Th last year 2007) Trivandrum Corporation said in the high court in Cochin that it was doing the ABC/AR programme (animal birth control/anti rabies), the case was taken in 2004 by a resident of Trivandrum, the lady who took the case was too nervous to take the case back to court for contempt and has signed a affidavit handing the proceedings over to our advocate.
 
A prominent citizen of Trivandrum has put in a Right to Information request to the corporation.  Also, we have a lot of evidence that the corporation is killing.
 
By rights we should win the case!!!

The Association for the Aid and Support of Creole Dogs

created by the European Association for the Protection of Animals and Environment/Europäischer Tier- und Naturschutz e.V. and the Alliance against Abuse of Animals/Bund gegen Mißbrauch der Tiere e.V. in order to establish finally the rights of stray animals in the European legislation, the right to live and to be treated humanely.
 
 

The European stray animals and those among us who are fighting for them, have been waiting for this for a long time.


The resolution shall be presented to the European Parliament and the European Comission in Brussel October 4th, the world animal welfare day.

*** UPDATE *** signatures will now be accepted until the end of the year, not just until the 4th of October which gives us more time.


We need at least 100 000 signatures.
