ANIMAL WELFARE ASSOCIATIONS FROM THE WORLD JOINED FORCES TO STOP MASS KILLING OF STRAY DOGS IN SERBIA

The notorious public shelter “Naš dom” in Požega has admitted on TV B92 that last year they euthansed 1280 dogs out of 1350 that captured and they also released a document giving their estimates for this year. They will aim to catch 1500 dogs out of which 1300 will be euthanised.

UK: Help to Put China Under Pressure – Get the British Government To Act.

Help to put China under pressure;

The next “UK-China Human Rights Dialogue” is due to take place in a few weeks’ time.

This is a chance for the UK government to raise concerns directly with China’s government. China is already under pressure following a statement condemning their “deteriorating” human rights record at the UN this March and a damning review from the UN Committee Against Torture last November.

The Committee agreed with evidence submitted by Free Tibet and other human rights groups that the “practice of torture and ill-treatment is still deeply entrenched in the criminal justice system”.

This is an opportunity for the UK to press for action. Please send an email to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to ask them to ensure that torture in Tibet is high on the agenda for the meeting.
