A team of disaster response vets from World Animal Protection is preparing to deploy to Nepal, to help animals who’ve been injured or left without shelter, after a devastating 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit the country on Saturday.
Though we are waiting on a final number of animals affected, Kathmandu is an urban environment, with a population of approximately 1 million, so there could be tens of thousands of animals needing help, as a result of the earthquake.

World Animal Protection is working with the authorities to join the international effort and complement the humanitarian relief, as the extent of the animal need becomes clear. On the front lines, our disaster relief team will provide immediate veterinary care for injured animals, run a mobile vet clinic to provide support to animals and their owners and assess the wider and longer term needs.
We truly understand the human dimensions of this catastrophe and our hearts go out to the thousands of people who lost loved ones. But animals are often the forgotten victims of disaster. Demand Spain strictly enforce penalties for animal cruelty
About this Petition
In this day and age, ALL animals should be kept safe, have rights and laws enforced to protect them and strictly penalize those that go against these laws.
In Spain, docile hunting dogs such as the Galgos and Podencos are chained in the dark, fed leftover moldy food once a week, lay in there own feces with no human interaction because the abusers feel this will make them hunt better.
They are also chained to the back of moving trucks to keep them running. If they don’t run, they will be dragged and die.
They are hung from trees to get strangled and drowned in wells if they are not desired. Others have there legs broken or eyes gauged out, and left to die of starvation and/or injury in the woods or chained until death. Please help stop this from happening and save these innocent souls.
Protect Spanish Hunting Dogs from Abuse and Death!
Every spring, Spanish hunters kill thousands of healthy dogs — and the owners are not brought to justice because hunting dogs are under Spanish laws classified as “working labor” and not as pets.
Spanish hunting dogs include galgos (greyhounds), podencos, setters, pointers, and more. They are extremely gentle dogs who are good with people and eager to please. Owners kill their hunting dogs when they “embarrass” their owners by losing races. They are deemed no longer useful and their owners no longer want to feed them.
One common way of killing these dogs is to hang the dogs by the neck just high enough so that they have to support themselves using their back legs.
Eventually, the dogs get too tired to stand any longer, so they collapse and hang themselves, slowly dying in agony and terror. It’s called “The Typewriter” because of the noise the dogs’ nails make as they skitter frantically on the ground, trying to get free.
Other times, hunters abandon the dogs to starve to death or shoot them.
Cruelty towards pets is illegal, but these hunters are rarely punished for this horrifying abuse because hunting dogs are not legally protected as pets. In fact, some don’t even know that it is outlawed, since people have been murdering their dogs in this way for generations.
It’s outrageous that people aren’t punished for these cruel killings. The laws need to protect these dogs and police need to arrest the hunters who mishandle and murder these animals.

Bile farmers ordered to hand over bears
Dear Mark,
Great news!
We have the go-ahead to rescue the bears on bile farms at Vietnam’s Halong Bay – thanks to thousands of supporters like you all across the world.
And not only that – the local authorities have agreed to COMPLETELY END bear bile farming in the entire province of Quang Ninh by transferring all of the remaining 38 bears to our Tam Dao sanctuary.
The first two bears will be rescued on May 5 from a remote island north of Halong Bay in what will be Animals Asia’s first sea rescue.
The transfer of all 38 bears in the province is expected to be complete in June.

The Shiraz Municipality has undertaken a massive killing of stray dogs by hiring APATHETIC Contract Killers in order to control the population of the Stray dogs in any way possible!
But what makes it horrifying, is the very inhuman agonizing method of killing through which the dogs are forcefully injected with Acid, so it brings them a very painful lynching death and the animal endures much suffering before its death; but the contractors don’t pay any attention to the animal’s agony since they just care about the money and the cheapest way to get rid of those Poor animals and earn more money.

Allah thanked him for his deed and and forgave him ll his sins !« The People said »o Messenger Allahs, are we also being rewarded for (deeds towards)animals?« The Prophet answered: »for all your actions against all living creatures you are being rewarded!«” (bu, mu). Anas reported, that the prophet Muhammed said: “No muslim will plant a tree or saw the seed of a plant, on which birds, people and animals likewise can feed, without getting the reward of sadaqa from Allah …” (bu). [sun:2562]
The representatives of the civilized world community demand you live up to your own culture and IMMEDIATELY STOP THIS UNNECCESARY BARBARIC TORTUROUS ACID INJECITON EXTERMINATION OF THE STRAY DOGS IN THE SHIRAZ COMMUNITY.
Instead apply the WHO neuter and release strategy and accept that Allah loves all his creatures, especially thos who respect the lives of the other be it humans or animals.
