Serbia: Belgrade – 17 Dogs, Unknown Numbers of Cats, Birds and Other Animals – The Authorities and Police Do Nothing As Usual About Animal Crimes. Official Charge Made by Animal Welfare Organisations.

In one part of Belgrade city, 17 dogs, and unknown numbers of cats, birds and other animals have been poisoned.

A formal charge has been made against the police; as this is a crime.  But as always, we can be sure that both the police and the authorities will not do anything, as the victims are just animals and the police and the authorities do not care about them.

But on the side of animal welfare, animals should be protected by the law also, hence the criminal charge.  The law is the law and a victim is a victim – therefore the police should investigate and prosecute.

Things will be very different if Serbia ever joins the EU – so it should get in some practice of enforcing the law; something which it currently seems unable to do.

Na Karaburmi, u blizini osnovne škole, za tri dana komadićima zatrovanog mesa ubijeni gotovo svi kerovi iz kraja.

BEOGRAD – Umirali u mukama!
Na Karaburmi, u blizini osnovne škole Filip Višnjić, za tri dana otrovom u komadićima mesa ubijeno je najmanje 17 pasa, a smrtonosni komadići nađeni su čak i u ulazima stambenih zgrada!

Za poslednja tri dana umrlo je 17 pasa, među kojima su i dva vlasnička – plačući nam priča Slavica Vukelić, čiji je pas jazavičar, star četiri godine, takođe otrovan. Kaže da je otrov pojeo u ulazu zgrade, dok je ona u tašni tražila ključeve od stana.
– Psu su se najpre ukočile zadnje noge, a posle 40 minuta strahovitog mučenja, uginuo mi je na rukama – kaže Slavica.

Njena komšinica Zorica Pejčić kaže da meštane ovog kraja najviše plaši to što je otrov blizu škole, pa „postoji opasnost da s njim i deca dođu u kontakt“.
Iz „Veterine Beograd“ kažu da su u više navrata intervenisali na ovoj lokaciji, kao i da su svi leševi smešteni u karantin u Ovči.

– Tu mogu da ostanu još nekoliko dana, u slučaju da dođe do istrage koju sprovodi policija – rekli su za Kurir iz ove ustanove i podsetili da je trovanje pasa krivično delo. Do zaključenja ovog broja od policije nismo dobili informaciju da li će pokrenuti istragu.

Poslednji slučaj trovanja juče je zabeležila naša ekipa. Otrovan pas pao je nasred Ulice Salvadora Aljendea na Karaburmi. Dok je naša sagovornica dotrčala da mu pomogne, neko ga je već pregazio automobilom.

Prijavljujemo masovno ubistvo pasa trovanjem u  Karaburmi- po saznanju iz medija ,videti dole . Za sada se zna za 17 ubijenih  pasa, trovanjem , ali taj broj moze biti I veci , I nepoznat je broj macaka, ptica  I drugih zivotinja.

Kao sto i sami znate ovo nije prvo masovno ubistvo  na ovaj nacin u Srbiji .Policija nije resila  ni jedan ovakav slucaj u Srbiji – zbog nesavesnog rada ili nesposobnosti pojedinaca u toj sluzbi , sto deluje ohrabrujuce za sve psihopate od kojih neki ne vole  pse,  a neki  decu,strace,beskucnike, kurve, narkomane, lovce, policajce, vatrogasce  ili bilo koju drugu kategoriju , i  takvima policija na ovaj nacin  daje  podstrek da ovde u Srbiji  slobodno mogu primeniti ovaj model masovnog ubistva I ostati neotkriveni – pogledajte dole.

Pitanje je  da li je ovo uradio  neki “brizni“ roditelj  koji je svoje dete upozorio ili neko drugi – zadatak policije je da to otkrije , kako bi  bio ispostovan nalog  clana 269. KZ RS.

Napomena: krivicno delo – cin  ne menja  sustinu  zavisno od toga ko je  zrtva I  nije bitno da li je  zrtva omiljena  ili ne, zadatak policije  u svakom krivicnom delu jeste : da otkrije pocinitelje  I omoguci sprovodjenje pravde u skladu s vazecim zakonima.

Ocekujemo da policija omoguci sudjenje pociniteljima masovnog trovanja  zivotinja  na Karaburmi.

After twelve years of preparation the use of barren battery cages for laying hens is finally banned from 1 January 2012. Eurogroup for Animals applauds the entry into force of this law which will directly improve the lives of billions of hens across the European Union who are able from now on to perform more natural behaviour.

The latest figures however show that millions of hens are still kept in conventional battery cages in several Member States, despite the generous phase-out period given to producers to comply with the legislation.

This part of EU egg production is now illegal and issue, the European Commission recently confirmed that it is ready to open infringement cases as early as January 2012 if Member States do not comply with the Directive. It also confirmed that every EU member state must take its own measures to guarantee the effective introduction and enforcement of the ban immediately.

It is totally unfair that countries like Austria and Germany, which are already compliant with the ban should be penalised by the marketing and sale of illegal eggs in countries that do not comply with the legislation!

It is important that we as European citizens keep as much pressure as possible on the European authorities, national governments and major egg uses to ensure this ban is fully enforced immediately.

Each and every one of us can make a difference every time we buy or eat an egg, whether it be by challenging your local supermarket, café, restaurant or holiday hotel or asking your work place caterer or local council to ensure that all their eggs come from non-cage systems. Help us make 2012 cage free!

A major result to improve hen welfare throughout the EU.  Unfortunately many hens will continue to be confined in the ‘Enriched’ cages; slightly better but not good enough.

Whenever you shop, please always buy free range eggs.  Ensure that they are used in the foods which you buy.  Kick battery eggs into touch – Go FREE RANGE !

The yolk of the free range egg is much more golden and better in quality as can be seen below.  The taste of a free range egg is so much better.  Please always ensure you only buy free range eggs.

Generally, the darker yellow to orange the yolk is, the healthier. 

The yellow color comes from a natural pigment called xanthophyll that is found in yellow corn and green plants (source: Gail  Damerow).

Free range chickens that ‘graze’ pastures produce darker yellow egg yolks that are less fat and have a vitamin A and D level that is way above the standard.

Excellent news ! – a great start to 2012, and so very much deserved.

ABC News Radio has named Lyn White, Animals Australia’s Campaign Director and Investigator, 2011’s ‘Newsmaker of the Year’.

Lyn’s live export investigations sparked 40,000 media stories and an unprecedented public outcry against live exports. The announcement, made live on air on New Year’s morning, reflects the growing public awareness and concern for animal welfare that is sweeping the country (Australia).

SAV would like to offer congratulations to Lyn for being awarded this title; and thank her for all of her excellent investigative work for animals suffering in transport and intensive farming systems.

Why This Is Important

Please help STOP Dr. Mitko Davkovski (vet ambulance “Vetapan”, the City of Nis, Serbia) from killing of stray dogs…  

Stray dogs are sterilized and are put back on the street shortly after…

Competent authorities fail to adequately solve the stray dog problem. In fact, all eventually boils down to catch them an masse, collected from a small town and in inadequate conditions (where 60 dogs are transported in trailer 1.5 x 1 m dimensions) driven to the higher centers and then sterilized.

While being in a stray dog center, they usually don`t get enough food and in case they are sick they don’t get adequately medical treatment. Also, while staying there they get fleas and ticks, and other parasites and viruses. At in the end, after that great treatment which I described, malnourished and often sick, they are given back to the street at the habitants, where they usually die in the worst pain.

All of these is pained by local community: for each male stray dog 30,- euros and for each female dog 50,- euros.

Facebook pages in Serbia are full of examples like this. In lot of cases stray dogs are found in the streets with opened wounds after being sterilized and chipped by some of those dog centers.

Also it is pretty often that dogs died while being in a dog center.

A story that at the beginnig seems nice but…

The Nis city council decided not to kill the stray dogs but to sterilize them!

After sterilisation and castrations the dogs are immediately released back to the streets or are put in the shelters where they don’t get the proper cure to heal!

The thing gets even worse when you find out the veterinary service is performed by Mirko Davkovski known as the undertaker of innocents who killed more then 1500 misfortunate dogs by injecting t61 injections right into their hearts lungs:

A.M. recorded by making photos of one of the sweeties who died because of this butcher. The beautiful dog in the pictures, was found in Nis (Serbia) on the street after her sterilisation performed by Mirko Davkovski in the Nis’ public pound! She was immediately released from the vet service in – as you can see – horrifying conditions. A.M. took the poor soul to another vet who tried to save her but, unfortunatelly, she died!

Everything that happened here is “LEGAL” !!!

This is not the first case, and if we don’t do something, it won’t be even the last neither!

Please send a letter or email … let them know, that there is nothing legal and moral in keeping a man like Mitko Davkovski on duty, someone who acts rather as a butcher than as a veterinarian!

Let them know that we – all of Europe – know about the atrocities that carry out every day in Serbia towards the animals. Let them know that we demand that Serbia begins to respect animals as sentient beings and the animal welfare laws are followed, we do not want more animal tormentors in the EU.

Please, speak out for this innocent souls… voice your opinion!

Please join the Romanian Animal Protection officials, and Romanian animal rights activists, in their legal battle to ask for justice in the case of the recent massacres of stray dogs in TARGU-JIU ROMANIA.

One day after Christmas a fisherman from Targu-Jiu made a gruesome discovery on the River Jiu banks…over 30 dead dogs, scattered everywhere, on a 500m area…and bag with animal remains in the river. Police has been called to investigate BUT, as this is NOT the first time in that city, that such horrible discoveries occur, after which Police concluded that they can not punish anybody…and closed the case, we intend to press the local Law Enforcement agencies to find out, this time, not only how come so many dogs ended up dead in the same place and same time, but WHO did it…this is a mass killing…

We hope that the legal complains and the international outrage about this crime, will force the Local Law Enforcement agencies to fully apply the law in force in Romania for the protection of animals, and will punish in the most severe way these individuals.

There might be the tendency to cover up or to find and excuse or , who knows what….and THIS tendency MUST STOP…it is far too common to let let people who commit crimes against animals to walk free, to get a small fine or even not to get charged at all.

The time has come for Romania to implement and APPLY the laws of the land. Romanian Police does not take the Law 9/2008, for the protection of animals seriously, and many times acts as if THIS law does not even exist.

We ask for a thorough and tough investigation and for the harshest punishment of all the individuals involved.

These are caused by noimplementation Law for veterinary ( 2.11.2005.)  Law for animal welfare ( 9.6.2009.) because veterinary inspectors don`t do their job  although they are good payed : unlawfull but unpunished  actions of city authorities and  of unpunished  irresponsible owners and ANIMAL SUFFERING and suffering of people who respect animals  –  are consequences.

In every Serbian city,  in every Balkan city –    situation is like this one in Nis , horrible.

And you cannot imagine  how deep are  suffering of  farm animals and wild animals here –  the biggest horror you ever see.

You might all recall the horrible conditions in the municipal shelter in Calarasi Romania, where dogs starve to death, in a word HELL ::

Now, a horrible discovery: dog catchers have BURIED ALIVE, 10 puppies, 2-3 months old, in a park in down town CALARASI, right in front of the town hall building!

Fortunately, the puppies have been saved in time. People in the neighborhood knew the momma dog and helped save the puppies.

We need to ask for justice for those workers to be punished in the most severe way.

Dear Romanian authorities,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As a normal human being I am speechless, after learning about the workers who buried ALIVE puppies in a park down town Calarasi, three days after we learned about the massacre of over 30 dogs in Targu-Jiu Romania.

This hideous crime MUST be punished in the most severe way, based on the Romanian Law for the protection of animals, in force in Romania. These individuals, not only committed an atrocity, they brought even more shame on the city of Caralasi which has become notorious for the way stray dogs are cared about in the local shelter.

We can only hope that the Law Enforcement agencies will do everything in their power to punish these individuals. Anything less would be yet another proof that Romania does not want to implement nor apply her own laws and also that Romania is the worst place in Europe for the animals.

In calitate de om normal, am ramas fara cuvinte cand am aflat ca muncitoriide la Spatii Verzi Calarasi au ingropat de vii, niste catelusi in Parcul Central din Calarasi.

Aceasta crima odioasa trebuie pedepsita in modul cel mai sever, conform legii pentru protectia animalelor, in vigoare in Romania. Acesti indivizi, nu numai ca au comis o atrocitate, dar a facut inca o data de rusine municipiul Calarasi, care deja a devenit notoriu pentru felul in care cainii fara stapan sunt ne-ingrijiti in adapostul local

Speram ca agentiile locale care au ca atribuite aplicarea legilor, vor face tot ce le sta in putere sa pedepsteasca pe acesti indivizi. Orice altceva decat pedepse severe, va fi inca o dovada ca in Romania nu se respecta si nu se aplica legii tarii si ca Romania este cel mai groaznic loc in Europa pentru animale.
