17 Ways Trump Attacked the Planet Over the Holidays
While the rest of the world celebrated the holidays, the Trump administration and its friends in Congress continued their assault on wildlife, public lands, the climate, science and our oceans.
The Revelator has the details about what Trump and co. were up to in late December — and a quick peek into what that means for 2018.
Georgia Snail Is First Species Declared Extinct Under Trump
The beaverpond marstonia, a freshwater snail from Georgia, was officially declared extinct last week in response to a 2010 Center petition to protect it. The snail was lost due to groundwater withdrawal for agriculture and urbanization, along with farming pollution.
The Service should’ve proposed protection for the snail in 2011 but didn’t act on the petition until we sued in 2016 for a court-ordered decision deadline. The species had been on the waiting list for federal protection since 1984.
Just hours ago Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced plans to dramatically expand offshore oil drilling in all oceans along U.S. coasts. This would include allowing new oil leasing along California’s shores for the first time in more than 30 years and in the remote Arctic.
The draft proposal for offshore leasing over the next five years shows that the Trump administration is serious about giving the fossil fuel industry exactly what it wants: unrestricted access to oil and gas reserves buried deep under our oceans. If allowed to stand, the plan will hurt wildlife and coastal communities, and risk even more oil spills and sea-level rise. We can’t let that happen.
Act now to demand that Secretary Zinke protect our oceans and climate by scrapping this plan.
Trump Left EPA Staff in the Dark Over Energy Star Cuts
Energy Star is a voluntary program that helps consumers find energy-efficient appliances, lighting and even homes. But the Trump administration wants to gut funding for the popular plan — which top EPA staffers didn’t even know until it turned up in media reports, according to documents partially released last week, obtained by the Center.
We’re now seeking the complete release of communications on Trump’s budget-cutting proposal.
“The Trump administration has a slash-and-burn approach to good ideas that help people and the environment, including Energy Star,” said the Center’s Greer Ryan, a renewable energy and research specialist.

When I saw the animals in this video, and how peaceful and responsible they are to each other, I suddenly realized what psychopaths around us live, who call themselves “hunters”, and who are nothing but mentally ill murderers.
I wish you all the best for the New Year 2018, and hope that together we can achieve victories for Animals in Morocco and Africa.
On the 27 December, we had a very productive meeting with partners (RAF) and Onssa (Moroccan OIE).
You can find the update on attached documents below.
One is in French, the 2sd is translated via google translation in English. Please forgive me if some words are not correct.
A 1st list of Professional associations has been sent by the Regional Representative of the Onssa to the RAF. We hope to get some of the decision makers at the next meeting that will take place on February the 10th in Rabat.
If you have any advices. We are aware that the challenge is absolutely huge but we keep on going, with your support.

Please crosspost the links if you wish –
Note – There are many GOOD animal saviour campaigners in China – this video footage of some of their work.
Please do not judge all of China because of the actions and abuses of some. This is where we need to pull together to support campaigners in paces like China; get the changes and make the difference.

Activism in 2017 | Dominic Dyer
“…activism shouldn’t become a penance – its got to be something you embrace because it’s a positive development in your life, it brings joy and happiness, excitement and innovation and change – it shouldn’t be something that has to be done because we’re all doomed and we’re all going to hell in a handcart…”
The badger cull, foxhunting, shooting, and the rise of veganism.
What direction is activism going in, and just how important was the snap general election in mid-June?
Charlie Moores discusses activism in 2017 with Dominic Dyer, chief-executive of Badger Trust and Senior Policy Advisor Born Free Foundation.
For those of you who are not familiar with Dom; you can see him doing the introduction in the following video – the Taiji Protest for the Dolphins, London.

Happy 2018 Everyone – Have a great year campaigning
– with many BIG positives on the horizon.
For us, and as further determination to improve in 2018, the major victory of the year 2017 lies with the incredible Jill at Animals Asia and the signing of an agreement with the Viet Nam government to free every single bile bear in the country (0ver 4,000 bears) and give them all new cruelty free homes at AA sanctuaries. Read more on this at:
That without doubt can be considered the major animal event of the year. There are many more; people ditching meat and taking up a cruelty free lifestyle instead; animals in circuses; the great news we have just had here in the UK that the government will not consider a free vote on the return to hunting. So much more good news !
So much has been achieved, but there is still so much to do. But it can, and will be achieved. Nowdays, with the use of computer systems and instant global audiences being at fingertips, news, campaigns and actions can be undertaken within a few seconds of events happening. This is how it is now and how the future will be – animal abusers will continue to be exposed and as with the UK government, they (governments) will be driven into a corner where they have no option but to do what the people, their voters, want. Democracy is powerful, ok !
Lets make this drive to get governments to listen and act positively for the animals who have no voice our determination for 2018.
On such days and as the old year goes on, the need to determine and evaluate who we are, will become more pressing.
Saying “we”, who do we mean?
I want to explain it, so that no one complains and reproaches me that I have not sent him any New Year’s wishes.
As far as my wishes are concerned, they do not follow a conventional hypocrisy, and that’s why I will not address everyone.
I appeal to us.
To those who fight, because they want to change a system of violence, of crime, to change a system of tyranny against the animals.
I turn to those who, with every means, every force, help to build a new future for the animals, without blood, without slavery.
I turn to the enemies of slaughterhouses and concentration camps, to the enemies of a fur, leather, hunting.
To the saviors of the strays, to the brave ones who are not afraid to show the animal killers.
It is not another world view, or any other opinion that separates us from the others.
What makes us different is about an advanced ethic, an ethic for animals, which is confirmed every day by our struggle, the fight for the liberation of animals, for the liberation of animals from tyranny, and the brutal exploitation of others.
We are few, but we are organized, determined, and we are not tired.
We are the progress against the anachronism.
To all of us I send my warmest wishes for a year full of health, strength and courage.Venus
HAVE A GREAT NEW YEARS DAY !
‘Boom Boom, Bang Bang; Lie Down Your Dead’
…… ‘They build them a home’
its called ‘EU Brussels’
A place where nothing is progressive when it comes to animal welfare.
