Breaking News!!!

A Huge Victory for Chinese Dogs

After three days and 24 hour intensive negotiations, the Chinese activists formally secured the rescue of the 500 dogs in Kunming, Yunnan.

The dog meat trader bowed to the voices of justice and humanity and signed the consent to give up her right to the dogs. Government measures shall follow to punish violations of the dog meat trader.

Thank you Chinese activists. You are the greatest! – the photo shows activists who have participated in the rescue.

Update on the Yunnan Dogs

Kunming, Yunan:
After more than 60 hours negotiation, the Chinese activists were able to get the officials to agree to unloading the dogs. There are about 500 dogs on this truck bound for a slaughterhouse. Some dogs did not survive. More than 60 activists from across the country are working at this moment to unload the dogs. These young Chinese activists ARE AMAZING! They are the hope of the destruction of China’s dog meat trade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all who have show support and compassion!!!

Kunming, Yunnan, June 28: Chinese activists discovered a truck loaded with some 400 or so dogs of various breeds on a highway near Kunming, provincial capital of Yunnan in Southwest China. Activists have pursued a five-hour chase, contacted law enforcement, and are gathering volunteers to intercept it. Dogs on board are suffering from high heat, hunger, thirst and weeks of abuse in the hands of the dog meat traders. These dogs are suspected of being stolen from people’s backyards. It is still too early to say if the dogs will be successfully rescued. But the leading activists, Humane Society International partner group members, are trying.

USA (Texas): Petition – Lone Star Alligator Farm – Animal Torturers.

Stop Supporting Alleged Alligator-Torturing Company

Target: Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermes

Goal: Stop the purchasing of alligator hide from business accused of animal cruelty.

An undercover investigation showed the use of brutal, inhumane, and unnecessary tactics for killing the alligators being farmed for their leather at Lone Star Alligator Farm in Texas. Investigators for PETA took footage of workers using box cutters to stab and twist into the spinal column of one year old alligators, placing some of them in ice bins to suffer while still alive. The alligators were labeled and named based on the size of skin they would offer, with the smaller ones being referred to as wristbands.

The standard way to kill alligators for hide is to knock them out with a livestock stun gun and then drain their blood by cutting major vessels and hanging them upside down.

Last year the farm reported they killed and salted 15,000 alligators to make tens of thousands of watches and purses for Hermes, a fashion company.

After PETA gathered video showing the inhumane treatment of the alligators, they turned it over to the county sheriff. After extensive research about alligator cruelty laws and the video evidence, Lone Star was formally accused of animal cruelty. They were then found not guilty by a jury and the video has since been released online by PETA.

Due to these allegations and the video evidence gathered by PETA, Hermes should stop allowing Lone Star to supply them with their expensive alligator hides. By cutting Lone Star out as a provider of animal hides, Hermes will show they don’t support the inhumane treatment of the animals they use for their goods and force all suppliers to be more careful in ensuring the animals they farm don’t suffer needlessly.

Sign this petition to demand that Hermes end any association with these animal abusers.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Dumas,

PETA recorded video from within one of your company’s alligator hide suppliers showing the animals being brutally slaughtered and forced to suffer needlessly. The charges against Lone Star Alligator Farm have been dropped despite much work from PETA and Sheriff Brian Hawthorne, but you can still hold them accountable for their mistreatment of alligators.

As a company that uses alligator hides in so many expensive goods, ensuring that the animals giving their lives for these goods are treated properly should be a priority to you and your customers. Having the animals suffer at the hands of the people taking their hides should not be condoned and policies that allow the alligators to die in as little pain as possible should be enforced.

Remove Lone Star as one of your alligator suppliers and turn your company’s purchases to farms that make sure their animals are being slaughtered in as humane a way as possible. These animals are giving their lives to become your expensive goods and should be treated with respect.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Important Petition: Muzzled Dog Has Limbs Removed By Woman Whilst It Is Alive !

How many times do we have to inform the authorities and police that animal abusers usually turn into child abusers and human killers ?

Warning – very graphic video footage on petition site.  Scroll to end to sign petition after repeating crypt.

UPDATE: After investigating this case deeper and receiving a response from the INTERPOL we found out that the woman from the video is Dorma Ridon.

The same person from the blow torch video.

Dorma and her husband Vincente were locked up in June 2012 and will remain there as they were sentenced to life in prison for the child abuse, animal cruelty and others.

A horrifying case of animal cruelty and abuse has surfaced on the internet as a video of a woman mistreating an tied up dog was posted on the social media.

In the video, a woman can be seen using a saw to slowly remove the dog’s legs as the dog cries in pain. The dog has a muzzle and the other legs seem to be already removed. The dog was conscious through the ordeal and it is unknown if he survived.

The dog seems to have no fur on him at all and that might be the result of him being skinned alive.

Please share this petition in an effort to identify this woman and have her prosecuted for her actions! This woman must be identified and I’m most certain someone out there knows who she is.

With a little help from the animal activists world and the INTERPOL we can make sure that she will be caught and punished for inducing so much pain to innocent animals! Everyone involved in this heinous act of cruelty must pay! Including the cameraman and the other persons from the set!

Please take action and make sure that she gets caught!

There is word out there that this case might be related to an older one from 2011. In the video from 2011 a woman was seen burning a dog using a blow torch. However that woman was prosecuted for her acts of cruelty and it is unsure if this new video is related to the same abuser.

Dear Mark,

News just in: government experts have just advised environment minister Liz Truss to keep the ban on bee-killing pesticides. [1] It’s a huge step forward, but it’s now down to Liz to make the final decision.

So the race is on. It’s unusual for the government to ignore the experts, but the toxic pesticide companies will now be throwing everything into swinging her decision. They have money – but we have people power (over 425,000 of us!) and together we can persuade Liz Truss to do the right thing.

We don’t have long, the decision is about to be made – can you send a quick tweet to Liz Truss to make sure she rejects bee-killing pesticides?

Urgent: Tweet Defra Now

The Expert Pesticides Committee has rejected the application to bring bee-killing pesticides back to our fields. But the final decision rests with environment minister Liz Truss. Please tweet her now.

 TWEET LIZ TRUSS

The petition to keep the ban on bee-killing pesticides has an incredible 425,000 signatures. And thousands of 38 Degrees members have emailed MPs and environment ministers persuading them to stand up for our bees. [2]

Here’s why 38 Degrees member Pauline is campaigning to protect the bees:
“A world without bees is a world without humans. Bees are far too important to be killed by neonicotinoids in the interests of business and short-sightedness.”

The decision is about to be made by Liz Truss and the other government ministers. Please can you tweet environment minister Liz Truss and ask her to protect the bees?

Thanks for being involved,

Dear friends,

Our bees are in danger again.

Toxic chemical companies are trying to get their banned pesticides back on UK fields.

The UK government are currently considering an application to lift the ban on bee-killing chemicals for some crops planted this autumn. [1]

Please can you sign the petition right now demanding that we keep the ban on bee-killing pesticides?

https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/keep-the-ban

The powerful pesticides which Europe banned last year are called neonicotinoids – and they pose a huge risk to bees. Last month an influential group of scientists concluded that these banned pesticides don’t just kill bees, they wreak “havoc” with other insects and plants in the countryside too. [2]

A huge petition will make it clear to the environment minister, Liz Truss, that she still needs to protect our bees, not the toxic profits of bee-killing chemical companies.

Thanks – Mark – This is very important

bees are little folk, but they are a vital cog in the machine !

 Happy bee 1

We have always tried to help bees.

A few years ago we made a large ‘Bee Hotel’ (as we called it) to encourage bees to produce new offspring using our special facility.  The hotel was made from old logs; every one drilled out many, many times to make individual tunnels or chambers into which a bee could enter and lay an egg.  Different sized chamber holes were drilled for the many different bees we hoped would pay us a visit.  The adult Bee when had entered the chamber and laid an egg then left some food inside the chamber for the youngster when it hatched; and the entrance was sealed up by the adult after egg lay with mud.  When it was ready, the youngster broke its way out of the chamber by smashing away at the mud – then it was ready to fly off and pollinate all the plants and trees.

As you can see from the pictures, ours was quite large; but it became very busy and “buzzing with activity” (I know, terrible pun) within a few days, and it has been used continually over the last few years by thousands of bees since its conception.  It took lots of time to cut the logs to a rough length and to spend hours (many hours !) drilling out all the individual (egg) chambers into each log; but when we finished and saw the results; which was thousands of new visitors to our ‘Hotel’; we both agreed that it was a job well worth doing.

To give an idea of the size, you can see Denise and myself standing by the hotel on the day we finally set it all up after many weeks of preparation; ready for the grand opening ! – and a sunny day in England – Wow Bonus !!!.

Some of the other views will give you an idea of what the project involved.

Why not try to build one yourself and encourage more bees into your patch.

Regards Mark and  Denise.

The Original Petition Overview

Director Steven Spielberg is going to the Faroe Island in july 2015 to shoot his upcoming live-action film based on Roald Dahl’s children’s book The Big Friendly Giant Please sign the petition to ask mr Spielberg to consider filming at a different location rather than the Faroe Islands where every year around 800 pilot whales (and occasionally dolphins as well) are brutally killed in an inhumane way. The hunts, called “grindadráp” in Faroese (or “The Grind”), are non-commercial and are organised on a community level. The hunters first surround the pilot whales with a wide semicircle of boats. Then they drive the whales slowly into a bay or to the shallows of a fjord. When a whale is in shallow water, a hook is placed in its blowhole so that it may be dragged ashore. Once on land or immobilised in knee-deep water, a cut is made across its top near the blowhole to partially sever its head. The dead animals are then dragged further to shore after the remaining whales have been likewise killed. These intelligent, empathic, sentient & emotional mammals don’t die instantly and often suffer prolonged agony in the blood-stained waters. These animals need not be killed for the people of the Faroe Islands to subsist. They already boast one of Europe’s best average standards of living, thus having enough meat to survive is not a major concern of the population. Women and children bear witness under the excuse of tradition and culture. It is claimed it is done for food, but with the meat being full of mercury and other poisons, this reasoning doesn’t make sense.

Please sign the petition to ask Steven Spielberg to please, please not film in the Faroe Islands, where they allow such animal cruelty to take place
