Serbia: Dead Farm Animal Bodies Just Dumped Near the Highway – A Perfect Food Source for Stray Animals; A Perfect method of Spreading Disease, and a Perfect Way for Corrupt Politicians to Keep Catching and Killing Stray Dogs !

Is it any wonder that Serbia has lots of stray dogs ?

Here you will see pictures of dead dogs and dead pigs which have been literally dumped on wasteland adjacent to a highway by farmers ?.

It is suspected that the farm animals have died on farms because of sickness and / or disease; – their bodies literally being taken to a location off a main road and dumped. No secure animal carcass burial in accordance with any disease control procedures; animals bodies literally just dumped in the open and left to rot.

A hazard for animal health and also a hazard for human health.

So why are the Serbian authorities; now seeking EU membership, not doing something about this ?

This situation provides:

A superb attraction for stray animals looking for food;
A potential and very easy method of spreading animal disease
Certainly no way for a government to reduce stray animal population numbers – by allowing ‘free food’ to be available for strays;
But no doubt more importantly, a perfect way for corrupt political figures who have business associations and personal interest in ‘controlling dog numbers’ through their hygiene stray collection and destruction facilities; to guarantee that their businesses continue to operate to the maximum and as such have plenty of stray dogs to be rounded up from the streets and destroyed.
Should ministries not be looking at farm animal welfare ? – at conditions in which animals are kept, and asking themselves why all these carcasses have been dumped in the first place ? – the pigs do not have a suicide pact; so what has caused their deaths ? – is anyone in government following this up to check animal welfare standards on farms ?

Serbia – setting farm animal welfare standards for the EU in the future ?
EU – Act and do something about this BEFORE Serbia gains EU Accession – only once they become members, it will be too late – you will have a duplicate Romania to deal with !
