Average of 326 visitors per day during 2011.

Busiest month of this year – 19,765 visitors during March 2011.

Average comments left on the site per month = 41.

Total comments left on site = 2,661.

So by almost doubling our visitor count during this year, maybe we are doing something a little bit right !

Thank you everyone for your support and for all of your visits – we hope and attempt to be informative on many animal welfare issues throughout the world.

Strays in Serbia and the Balkans are what we were originally founded for; and continue to fight for.

It is especially great news to send love to Slavica at EPAR shelter in Serbia; someone who is a true friend of the animals and someone who has endured some very serious health issues in recent years.  But now we all share with Slavica in her fantastic news that things are very much in the clear and her health is improving daily; so now she can continue to fight so very hard for Serbian animals as she has always done.  Thank you Slavica; you are a real animal hero !

Read a little more about Dr. Medicine Slavica Mazak Bešlić at  https://serbiananimalsvoice.wordpress.com/about-us/

We at SAV do not have any form of facility to deal with financial donations – instead we try to provide web site information and links to many of the issues (posts) that we cover.  We simply ask people to donate directly to any organisation(s) of their choice should they wish to help animals.   Serbian animals were what we started on, so donations to all Serbian animal welfare organisations are greatly accepted.

So, a great year for us at SAV; and we look forward to 2012 and the new challenges and the good news on some animal issues which are bound to come our way.  There are lots of bad times and bad issues in this business unfortunately, but there are millions of good folk out there who are trying to help animals and make the world a better place.  Hopefully our latest posts relating to excellent work of AnimalsAsia and the fun video of Hillside rescue sanctuary here in England will end the year on a better note for us all.

Have a peaceful and meat free Christmas – and best wishes for the new year.

See you all in 2012.

Website:  http://www.hillside.org.uk/

Since founding Redwings Horse Sanctuary in 1984, Wendy Valentine’s name has been synonymous with care and concern for horses.
In 1995, Wendy formed Hillside Animal Sanctuary after witnessing the plight of the battery hen and has since helped and campaigned for animals in need, particularly those who are so routinely abused in the intensive factory farming industry.

Hillside is now home to over 1000 animals and is one of the UK’s most successful campaigning organisations for the animals’ cause.  We have always known that one of the main reasons animals are left to suffer in factory farms is because people have little or no idea about the immense cruelty involved in their food production. Although most of our rescued animals have been saved from the farming industry, Hillside is home to over 300 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.

A festive smile for you from Bearland

Dear Mark,

This is just a very short message to wish you all a wonderful festive season and to thank you more than I can say for all your support and encouragement over the past year.

Please visit my blog to see (and hear) a little festive tribute that our China and Vietnam teams put together for you — “Jingle Bears” won‘t be winning any awards, but I hope it gives you a smile.

From all of us at Animals Asia, have a lovely, warm and safe holiday season with your family and friends.

Bear hugs,

Jill
