Thank you for your support throughout 2015.
From exposing China’s propaganda in schools to pressuring politicians to stand up to China and meet the Dalai Lama, 2015 was a busy campaigning year for Free Tibet. Particular highlights for us were making sure Tibet was repeatedly featured in national and international media coverage of President Xi Jinping’s UK visit in October, and seeing the United Nations’ Committee Against Torture use evidence we submitted to challenge and criticise China in a damning report this month.
It has been another difficult year inside Tibet with dozens of confirmed arrests and disappearances and heavy restrictions on freedom of movement and communications. Despite that, Tibetans have continued to seek new ways to resist China, from defying the authorities and celebrating the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday to protesting against land grabs.
