Dear friends, we have great news;
– the amazing Nancy and her wonderful organization Straydogs Belgium have lightened up these gloomy days by donating some high quality cat food and cat supplies to our more than grateful Felix kitties.

All of them were beyond excited when they saw what they had gotten and thoroughly checked every single item before they gathered together for a snack.

These gifts couldn’t have arrived at a better moment and we’d like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the huge help we’ve received!
All of the kitties in the shelter are safe and loved for life, but they do need help; especially to keep them both warm and fed during these cold winter months.
Thank you !

Further Update – 17/12/15:
Dear Mark,
Wolves in four states got a reprieve Tuesday night with news that a congressional rider that would have stripped federal protections from wolves was not included in the final budget.
This is huge — the move would have been a disaster, ending Endangered Species Act protection in Wyoming, Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin — pushing aside decades of work to recover wolves in these regions. The Center for Biological Diversity has been on the front lines in the fight against these anti-wildlife measures since the very beginning, and we never let up.
Thanks to all our supporters who made calls, sent letters and raised their voices for wolves. Along with you, we’ll savor this victory as the year comes to close, but know that the fight for wolves will continue in 2016.
The same vicious attitudes that drove the potential budget riders to end wolf protections will be back at the local, state and federal levels — and we’ll be there to fight back every hour and every day. We’ll need you by our side to ensure that wolves will not be stalked, shot down and trapped in this coming year.
Wolf hunts are still legal in Idaho and Montana — hundreds have died so far this winter.
Government agencies, like the rogue “Wildlife Services,” are still killing far too many wolves at the behest of special interests. And the wolf-haters in Congress will return, trying next year to again strip wolf protections.
This is a moment of celebration, but it’s also a moment to re-commit to the fight for wolf protection. Right now a passionate wildlife advocate has made just such a commitment — she will match every dollar if you donate now to the Endangered Species Defense Fund.
We’ll use your matched gift to take on new threats in 2016. With the wolf-haters pushing back from California to New Mexico to the shores of the Great Lakes, we won’t stop until every wolf is safe from needless suffering and death.
As this victory shows, with your help, we can win for wolves. For the wild,
Kierán Suckling
Executive Director Center for Biological Diversity @KieranSuckling

Mark,
I have very good news to share with you today.
Had the omnibus bill moved forward with those provisions intact, wolves in Wyoming, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin would have again been stripped of protections and these states would likely have set hunting and even trapping seasons.
Your support and actions were instrumental in keeping these dangerous proposals from becoming law. Together, we delivered tens-of-thousands of emails, phone calls, tweets, and in-person visits to decision makers to impress upon them the crucial need to keep wolves protected under the Endangered Species Act.
Thank you for everything that you have done for wolves and other endangered and threatened species.
We will continue to update you if Congress takes up similar bills, and hope you will help us keep up the momentum to protect wolves.
Until then, we can celebrate this success for these wolves today.
Sincerely,
Leda Huta

Give an unadopted shelter dog a Christmas dinner
Ladies & Gents,
At Christmas time, when we are so preoccupied with purchasing gifts for family and loved ones, often we forget about those who have nobody but us to help, our four legged friends in shelters. When we’re so busy organising the perfect family Christmas, sometimes it just slips our mind that our furries need to eat too. We just want to remind you, that in the spirit of the season, the season of giving, how truly desperately, we need to keep our dogs fed and warm. At Christmas, during the coldest point in the year, our dogs need more food for fuel just to keep warm.
Please, we are begging you, don’t forget about our rescues. They need our help. If you could donate the cost of just one meal for our dogs over the Christmas period, you will help more than you could imagine.
We have more than 35 dogs and 3 cats under our care and many of them are fighting different health issues or require special medicine food. Like renal food for our 14 year old mix breed old girl Ava, or royal canine baby milk for the litter of five babies we found thrown by the road while they were still blind. All of them will look at us for Christmas dinner and with your help we will succeed. Because at Christmas time we must not forget to count our blessings and share a little love with those unfortunate ones.

Please crosspost to the moon and back !
Please support the vast majority of the British people and sign this petition.
Brits are sick to death of seeing animals killed in this way because certain ‘religions’ say that it has to be done that way. If people of these religions want to live in the UK / Europe; then they follow UK / European law, which says that all animals must be stunned prior to slaughter.
Take action against a gutless government who are out of touch with the real world and real people in the UK. Cameron has a lot to answer for !
Please watch the video with the petition and decide for yourself – is this the way to treat an animal because religion says so ?

Petition link:
Petition wording:
The British people are against halal slaughter.
Under British Law, animals must be stunned before slaughter, and not killed in full view of other animals.
Halal slaughter is a cruel, barbaric way to slaughter an animal. Denmark, Sweden, Germany Norway and the Netherlands have banned halal slaughter, and as an animal loving nation, we are petitioning for the same to happen here. We are angry at the food industry for pandering to the minority group that want halal foods, and we want you to stand up and set an example that halal is wrong.
It is completely unnecessary because the people who eat this food can say a prayer over the food which enables them to eat it.
We ask you to respect the wishes of the British people who are against halal and remove this from our foods. The Danish PM said animal rights have to come above religious rights, and we believe that in the year 2015, this is true.

You certainly do not !
Go and live somewhere else – get out of the UK
– useless hypocrite ! – can we suggest –

Picture – LACS.
This action is very much aimed at supporters in the UK only, as the League Against Cruel Sports (LACS) are asking UK residents to mail (via their site link) the UK Home Secretary Theresa May regarding the issue of dog fighting; which still illegally goes on here.
The following is a link to the LACS site and a sample letter which you can submit once you have provided details such as your name and address.
Link to LACS letter to Theresa May:
A new report commissioned by the League Against Cruel Sports shows that, despite being illegal for over 150 years there is still a dog fight going on somewhere in the UK every day.
Dog fighting is incredibly cruel. Organised dog fights can last up to five hours with horrific injuries sustained by the animals involved. Those that don’t die during the fight are often patched up using crude methods including supergluing torn ears or stapling wounds closed.
Cruel training methods involve putting a smaller ‘bait’ animal – often a cat or a rodent – just out of reach for hours whilst the dog strains against a tether. Eventually, the tether is removed and the dog set on the bait.
Dog fighting is one of the most barbaric forms of animal abuse that still takes place in the UK. It should have been confined to history alongside bear baiting and cockfighting, yet it still takes place every day.
You can make a difference by contacting the Home Secretary Theresa May asking her to take action on dog fighting.
Simply fill in your details and you will be taken through to a template letter.

MFA Exposes MFA Exposes Criminal Animal Abuse at Perdue Farms

The following is a copy of the letter sent by Nathan. Please make sure you watch the video (even only once – which shows all the animal abuses) and then please sign the petition – thank you – after all the different expose work undertaken by MFA at different animal facilities; if people still want to eat meat then there is no real answers for them – this is all just clear animal abuse which goes completely against the ‘animal welfare’ crap which these places put out to their customers.
Watch the video and see the realities ! – thanks, SAV.
Dear Mark,
The images are heartbreaking, and stomach-turning. A new Mercy For Animals undercover investigation into Perdue Farms has uncovered disturbing cruelty to animals, including a worker stomping chickens to death, and violently kicking birds and throwing them against walls. Our hidden camera also exposed thousands of chickens crammed into windowless sheds forced to live in their own waste and toxic ammonia fumes.
Bred to put on weight faster than their bodies can withstand, most of the birds have problems walking and many succumb to heart attacks. Before going to slaughter, they are grabbed by their legs and violently thrown into crates, suffering broken bones and other injuries. As a result of MFA’s breaking investigation, a Perdue Farms worker has just been arrested and charged with four felony counts of criminal cruelty to animals. This is a historic and groundbreaking legal move on behalf of birds raised for meat.

But we won’t stop there. Now we’re calling on Perdue—one of the largest poultry producers in the country—to stop paying lip service to animal welfare and implement meaningful policies and oversight at its facilities to end the worst forms of animal abuse.
Please, take a moment to sign our petition calling on Perdue to stop torturing chickens. Then please share the hidden-camera video with friends and encourage them to take action too.
And remember, each of us can vote for a kinder world every time we sit down to eat by choosing humane vegan alternatives to chicken and other animal products.
Sincerely,
Nathan Runkle President.

Dear Mark, It all comes down to the next few days.
If far-right politicians get their way in Congress, many of our nation’s wolves will face constant pursuit, maiming and even violent deaths at the hands of hunters and trappers.
These politicians are sneaking wolf-killing “riders” into must-pass spending bills — and we need your help to stop them. With a vote expected to happen as soon as Friday, the Center is pushing hard to head off these poison pills, organizing our nearly 1 million members and supporters to speak out to Congress and tell them to drop this wolf-killing legislation.
We’re facing stiff opposition.
In Wyoming, if Rep. Cynthia Lummis succeeds, her rider would bring back shoot-on-sight rules that set no limits on wolf killing across much of the state. In the Great Lakes region, where 64 percent of Michigan citizens voted last year to end wolf hunting, the rider backed by newly-minted Speaker of the House Paul Ryan would ignore the people and jump-start organized hunts using neck snares and trained dogs that could decimate the wolf population.
This is not how democracy or wolf conservation should work. These kinds of fights take enormous resources, which is why a generous advocate has offered to match your contribution on behalf of wolves when you give before Dec. 31.
We know from experience that when federal protections are yanked, wolves die and decades of recovery work come to a screeching halt. The Center and our allies won reprieves from these death sentences in many states, but if these riders pass, vicious wolf-killing campaigns will resume in Wyoming, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Oregon, Washington, Utah and Colorado could follow suit, eliminating safe havens for wolves one by one.
The Center has made saving wolves a top priority for decades — leveraging science, law and activism to win a string of victories in court and Congress for their protection. Now we’re facing a whole new level of animosity as lawmakers commit themselves to ending wolf protection.
With your support, we’ll organize our lawyers, scientists and activists in Washington and across the country to oppose this deadly agenda. With the Center you can secure a future for America’s wolves and other wildlife on the brink of extinction, ensuring their protection, securing safeguards for their habitat and fighting off attacks by those looking to weaken the Endangered Species Act.
The enemies of wolves want to see them wiped out across most of the country for the second time in a century. The endgame is on.

Dear Mark,
Thank you for your generous contribution to the Center for Biological Diversity’s “Endangered Species Defense Fund”. Your tax-deductible gift will help our fight to defend the rare and valuable wild plants, animals and places we all love, as well as uphold the Endangered Species Act.
Your gift will be matched by another generous donor who shares your concern for protecting Earth’s precious biodiversity, making your gift especially powerful. For more than 25 years, the Center has tackled some of the most difficult and challenging environmental problems facing our planet and the future of life on earth – attacks on our bedrock environmental laws, climate change, population and sustainability issues, habitat loss for species, and pollution of the air, land and water that all life on Earth needs to survive.
Thanks to the loyal and generous help of our members, we’ve been able to safeguard nearly 600 imperiled species and close to a half a billion acres of wild habitat. Your help gives us the power to make a difference for the future of the planet by taking action in the courts, on the ground and in local communities.
Together with your support, we move forward with a wild and powerful love for the beauty, diversity and mystery of life on this planet.
Sincerely,
Kieran Suckling, Executive Director.
