Germany: report about farm und transport misery

First report:

On the 24th of July 86,500 chickens died after fire in a stable in Lower Saxony, (Germany) – 2.8 million euros damage (!!!)

Police said the building was completely ablaze. The fire developed in the building, and although 150 firefighters were in charge, the animals could no longer be rescued.
“Even from a distance, a black cloud of smoke could be seen”, described the fire brigade master  the first minutes after the alarm. On site, the firefighters then found “a stable in full blaze”.

The 86,500 chickens housed on five “floors” in the 100-meter-long building were beyond salvation.

The truth: In the present case, there is murder, because of clear over-number of inmates and not existing fire protection measures in the stable!

Second report:

Hesse, Germany (dpa / lhe) – About 500 chickens died on the 25th of July during an animal transport. They were not supplied with water at 34 degrees, reported the police on Thursday in Giessen (Germany).

(Photo: Police Headquarters Central Hessen / dpa)

According to the officials, the livestock had neither a cooling system nor drinking water for the animals, which had already been traveling from France to a slaughterhouse in Poland for about 16 hours.

The drive there would have taken another twelve hours. The officials spoke of “incredible pictures”. In addition to around 500 dead chickens, numerous other animals would have been “in miserable condition” in the cages.

According to their assessment, not a single chicken would have survived until Poland.

Third report:

143 pigs transported on Tuesday, July 23 at 41 degrees without water

Photo: Police Dortmund, Germany

They were completely dehydrated, hyperventilated and could barely stand: On the highway the Dortmund police rescued with the fire brigade more than 100 pigs from the heat death.

At least three of the animals had already died when the police controlled the van.

In the transport officials measured 41 degrees despite ventilation and the built in water tank was empty. No wonder that the pigs hyperventilate and could no longer stand on their feet. The driver (47) from the Netherlands had no animal welfare documents.

Conclusion: I see only one solution to this misery of the animal transport, created by the sub-system of the transport mafia.
That means: the 8-hour animal transport limit for EU countries.
Animal transports automatically become an unprofitable business for all!

For agricultural lobby, slaughterhouse operators and transporters.

EU: It`s time to evolve

Pigs, hens, meat rabbits, ducks and quail are imprisoned in factory farm cages all over the EU.

End the Cage Age will work on eliminating all of these cages. We need your help to bring about these changes.

They won’t happen overnight, but, with your backing, they will happen.

Every generation must make its mind up which injustice and cruelty to animals it is going to stop. The time has come for this generation to stand up and End the Cage Age.

The range of animals that are farmed in a form of cage in the EU is wider than many might think.

Not only hens (in ‘enriched cages’), but pigs (in sow stalls and farrowing crates), ducks and quail and even rabbits are all farmed in cages.

So where are all the cages?

And we mean…The biggest crime of humanity is factory farming.
Every year we kill over 50 billion animals. There are more breeding animals than wild animals. Animals today live in tormenting farms, we have degraded them from the living being to mass-produced.

Profit can only be achieved through mass.
There are countless videos of slaughterhouses showing how millions of animals live, what we, the human species, call “life.”

For a lifetime behind bars of a tight cage, born and raised in excrement, unable to move, without contact with conspecifics, without medical care when injured, in dirty cages, never breathe fresh air, never drink fresh water, never feel fresh grass under their legs, reach the farm “goods” through painful transports, the last stop of their “life”: the slaughterhouse.

This is the factory farming that we want to end.
We have to do it, we owe it to the animals.

Factory farming and farms are a crime of humanity against animals and offend against the ethics of modern civilized countries and societies.

Animal transports: hypocrisy and business

Report of the organization Animals Angels, Germany

The temperatures on the route from Spain to Italy reached the 35 ° C mark last Friday as well.

We accompany a transport with Spanish pigs, which are transported to a slaughterhouse in southern Italy. The animals on the second deck of the vehicle can not drink because the potions are blocked. We therefore decide to alert the police.

But we have to wait until evening gets cooler. In this heat, we can not risk stopping the transport for a long time because the controls can take hours.

Meanwhile, the transport reaches southeastern France.

But the police are not coming. All attempts to turn on French officials fail.
As soon as the transport crosses the border, we try it in Italy, but here too tourism has priority, there are no officials available (!!!)

The transport continues unhindered to the south. Near Rome, the animals are finally dumped.

The pigs are not feeling well. They are panting heavily and many have foam around their mouths. The older driver is aggressive, he threatens us with a wooden beating (!!!) tries several times to hang us off and even takes detours to get rid of us.

Finally, the transport arrives at a slaughterhouse on the heel of the Italian boot tip.

We are exhausted, sad and angry. Now all we have to do is send complaints to all the parties and authorities involved and get the media involved.

We will not give up. These days we realized that the carriers fear us more than the authorities.

My comment: A big problem with animal transport is that, first and foremost, there is no time limit for animal transport. The animals can in principle be transported endlessly.

The second problem is that the provisions about transport space, break, supply are formulated so inaccurately that at the end of each transport mafia acts according to its own rules.

The third and biggest problem is transports to third countries, that is, with clear words to countries where the word “animal welfare” is a foreign word. Countries that do not have animal welfare, and treat the animals like potato sacks and kill them like that ..

There is also a fourth problem with animal transport: that corrupt EU commissioners and agricultural ministers from many EU countries have common interests in animal transport, and thus one hand washes the other when it comes to animal transport abuses.

We hear a few warnings, some mails are sent, and the next 20,000 animals are transported back to hell with 42 degrees (illegal) temperature accompaniment.

We are exhausted, sad and angry too.

And we realize that animal transport has become a dirty, political business at the expense of animals, which disgusts and repudiates any democratic and ethical-minded people.

EU Commission: animals are not your garbage!

One of the three stranded cows in Tenerife, April 2019

They are terrible pictures dead cows or calves are washed ashore on the beaches!

as we see here in the video

Why are there bodies of dead cows and calves on beaches around the world? They were simply thrown overboard during an animal transport! How to throw leftovers from food, or garbage overboard!

After divers in the Mediterranean were suddenly surrounded by dead calves and cattle and published the video in the social networks, there are also criticisms in the United Arab Emirates about animal transports.

About 20,000 animals fit on such a ship and therefore they are carted together from all over Europe to be transported on these ships. Often, these animals travel for days by truck, then come on a ship, for example, are brought to Lebanon and transported from there again by truck to other countries.

My comment: In the paper, MEPs now demand that animals spend as little time as possible in the vans in the future. In the hot months and over 30 degrees certainly not.

In the paper we read, that unannounced controls and the use of modern tracking technologies must take place.
Accordingly, Member States that detect infringements should impose uniform sanctions across the EU, such as confiscating vehicles or, in the case of repeat offenders, depriving them of the right to transport.

The EU Commission is the police in the EU area, which means that, according to the will of Parliament, it should be allowed to impose fines on countries that do not comply with EU law.
Transports to non-EU countries in breach of EU requirements must also be systematically prohibited.

This had independently practiced a small group of German veterinarians, acting under EU law, they have refused to approve shipments to non-EU countries.
The German government, the strong lobby of the agrarian and transport mafia has condemned and banned this initiative.

We have not experienced effective protection especially in recent times.
Both for the animals and for the law.

On the contrary !! Even commissioners resign themselves to the impudence and the authority corrupt ministers (see Romania) and instead of animal welfare on board and on the road, we experience officially even more animal exploitation, even more animal suffering, even more crimes against animality!

We must increase the pressure on the EU Commission and the Member States to do more to protect the animals transported.

We will fight against criminal transport gangs, and against the disregard of the laws of those, who paid by us to protect animals and laws.

The case “Midia” has not become an archive case!

Mauritius: the supplier of the labor mafia

Ethics? The billion-dollar companies such as VW, BMW and Daimler are now because of the test series of monkeys in the criticism, but honestly, what has changed since the announcement of the exhaust gas scandal really?

Mauritius is after China the number 2 country selling monkeys for animal testing.

Tens of thousands of monkeys are kept in large farms across the island. The offspring of these wild-caught monkeys are then sent to labs around the world.

The illegal trade in endangered animals for so-called research is a billion dollar business. Especially in China, the demand is increasing more and more. Also great apes find rapid sales there.

In 2016, the breeders exported 8245 animals to North America and Europe – nearly half of them to the United States (see table below).

6000 primates suffer every year in research in Europe with the support of taxpayers!

Ethics play no role in the global economy today! This is shown by the 10 monkeys, who were sitting in an airtight gas chamber, inhaling the fumes from a VW Beetle, while “cartoons” were shown on a screen.

The monkeys are crammed into small wooden boxes and shipped as cargo in passenger aircraft. On long-haul flights, animals suffer from hunger, thirst, anxiety and stress. Animal rights activists have been protesting for years. Many airlines have already left the cruel transport business due to the worldwide protests.

Mauritius still supplies the primates for animal experiments.

What happens to monkeys from Mauritius in the animal experiment lab … can be seen in this video.

After a doctor pointed out to us in 2013 the monkeys in Mauritius and we made this public, the doctor was threatened and she had to stop her engagement against this massacre. She was even threatened with a career ban.

We can see how big this criminal lobby is.

My comment: In Mauritius itself, there have been no animal experiments. But the government has now launched a law that will allow the establishment of animal testing laboratories.
Animal experimenters are to be lured into the country to be able to conduct research on monkeys directly on site.

A billion dollar business, a corrupt mafia that earns it and corrupt countries that support this business. From this recycling of violence and unscrupulousness lives the business of the laboratory mafia.

Long-tailed macaques are caught in the wild with traps and penned for mass-breeding in animal factories – a legalized crime. Animals for which there are no consumers, such as big males, are killed and disposed of like garbage.

The breeding establishment Noveprim in Mauritius belongs to 47% of the company Covance. The American company has contract laboratories around the world, including in Münster, Germany.

At Covance in Münster every year about 1,000-2,000 monkeys are killed in painful toxicity tests. The animals are pumped chemicals or drugs into the stomach with a tube or injected into the bloodstream. Eventually the animals are killed.

For many years, the Doctors against animal tests, have together with their European partners launched and supported various protest and letter campaigns from ECEAE (European Coalition to End Animal Experiments).

What is difficult…

“Being vegan must be so difficult.”…

In reality, taking a few seconds to read ingredients, to look for a brand that doesn’t test on animals, or to find clothing that isn’t derived from an animal is hardly an inconvenience compared to what the animals are forced to endure.

kuhleiden

What IS difficult is seeing the dairy industry through the eyes of a female cow: being forcibly impregnated, having your baby taken away and then aching for them, being hooked to a milking machine, and having the cycle repeat until your body physically cannot take it anymore.

What IS difficult is seeing through the eyes of a male calf: being ripped away from your mom, being forced to live chained to a tiny crate and rarely getting exercise, receiving milk replacer instead of your mom’s milk, and being killed at as young as three weeks old for veal.

What IS difficult is seeing the egg industry through the eyes of a hen: having your body manipulated to lay an unnatural amount of eggs, dying from having eggs backed up in your oviduct, having the highest rate of ovarian cancer out of any animal species because your body is overproducing, and being crammed inside a tiny cage with several others while covered in faeces.

What IS difficult is seeing through the eyes of a male chick: being gassed or ground up alive simply because your body isn’t perceived as resourceful to the human species.

What IS difficult is seeing the meat industry through the eyes of pigs, cows, chickens, and other land animals: knowing you are about to die because you can smell the blood and hear the screams of others, being stunned (which usually takes multiple tries), and having your throat slit or being gassed alive, all just so you can wind up on someone’s plate.

What IS difficult is seeing the seafood industry through the eyes of fish, crabs, and other sea animals: having your gills collapse and your eyes pop out from painful decompression, being suffocated, being crammed in floating sea cages or ponds with hundreds of thousands of others, facing infections and diseases, being starved for days before slaughter, and then being slaughtered, all just so you can wind up on someone’s plate.

What IS difficult is what all non-human animals face under speciesism.

As vegans, all we do is align our morals to include them.

📷 Jo-Anne McArthur / We Animals

….and when we recall the last journey to the agonizing death of the 70,000 living creatures of “Midia,” not only we find it difficult to accept it, but we find it as a crime against any morality, decency and progress of a civilized society.

What IS difficult is to accept that 7 billion human carnivores are allowed to decide about the life and death of the “other animals”.

My best regards to all, Venus

The case “Midia”

On July 15, 2019 we received two horror reports from the small port of Romania, Midia.

One was that 70,000 live sheep were to be transported to Kuwait by ship.
The other horror message was the impudent refusal of the meaningless Romanian Minister of Agriculture to ban the transport.

EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety’s Andriukaitis had emailed Petre Daea to ban this brutal drive of 70,000 sheep to the Persian Gulf.

“I urge you to stop the import of sheep to the Persian Gulf”, said Vytenis Andriukaitis in his letter.

The EU representative Anja Hazekamp was on site and had also demonstrated against the transport unmistakable.

The cruise should take 6 days. Until now (21.07.19, 19:34) the ship is still on its way, and the still alive animals suffer from dehydration, hunger, ammonia stench and heat stroke.

Finally, Agra Minister Daea writes Commissioner Andriukaitis on his ass and gives the green light to a transport that will soon become the mobile Auschwitz for a few thousand animals.

Petre Daea was just finished with his six-month EU- Council presidency when he admitted this illegal animal transport.

In this short time, Daea has been well aware of the inability of certain EU commissioners to benefit.

He understood that he had nothing to fear because his EU colleagues had neither the authority nor the courage to force a meaningless minister to obedience.

And at once he acted with an outrageous authority over his colleague Andriukaitis, which disgusted every civilized and democratic man.

Due to the fundamental inability and ignorance of the EU Commission to take elementary measures against unnecessary suffering in animal transport (such as the ban on transport through Europe and to third countries in the summer), every corrupt minister becomes the head and hangman of the Animal Protection Act, and even in a continent that wants to assert itself as progressive and superior to China or Africa.

The EU Commission, including its 28 idle and useless commissioners, has failed.

All over!

This fact is not new, but it is getting more dramatic.
The case of Midia, including ministers and commissioners, is a scandal, it is cruel, it is inhuman and extremely irresponsible.

The deeper the disappointment for all animal rights activists grows, the more we hope that the new President of the EU Commission, the German Ursula von der Leyen, will bring an appropriate share of responsibility and authority to the lame men of the Commission.

We will talk more about this topic soon.
