UK: For UK Residents Only – Help The LACS Fight The Dogfighters. Write To The Home Secretary Using The Draft Letter Provided.

LACS Website = http://www.league.org.uk/  for all campaign details.

This action is very much aimed at supporters in the UK only, as the League Against Cruel Sports (LACS) are asking UK residents to mail (via their site link) the UK Home Secretary Theresa May regarding the issue of dog fighting; which still illegally goes on here.

The following is a link to the LACS site and a sample letter which you can submit once you have provided details such as your name and address.

Link to LACS letter to Theresa May:

https://www.e-activist.com/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=122&ea.campaign.id=45432

A new report commissioned by the League Against Cruel Sports shows that, despite being illegal for over 150 years there is still a dog fight going on somewhere in the UK every day.

Dog fighting is incredibly cruel. Organised dog fights can last up to five hours with horrific injuries sustained by the animals involved. Those that don’t die during the fight are often patched up using crude methods including supergluing torn ears or stapling wounds closed.

Cruel training methods involve putting a smaller ‘bait’ animal – often a cat or a rodent – just out of reach for hours whilst the dog strains against a tether. Eventually, the tether is removed and the dog set on the bait.

Dog fighting is one of the most barbaric forms of animal abuse that still takes place in the UK. It should have been confined to history alongside bear baiting and cockfighting, yet it still takes place every day.

You can make a difference by contacting the Home Secretary Theresa May asking her to take action on dog fighting.

Simply fill in your details and you will be taken through to a template letter.

The Bomb policy on:

Animal Testing

Animals shouldn’t suffer because we choose to take these little pleasures in life. We ensure that none of our suppliers test our ingredients on animals by committing to a fixed cut off date policy in line with major animal right groups recommendations.

We never will and never have tested our finished products on animals. We will support raw material manufacturers who fund alternative methods of testing the raw materials we buy.

Our commitment to animal rights and the protection of our environment are commitments we take very seriously.

Hand Made Soaps

Our soaps are all made by hand in our own factory by hand. Each block is poured by hand, and then sliced by hand. All the shapes you see in the slices are made of soap and they are made by hand too. We use the finest quality ingredients and essential oils to make our soaps. They all contain Glycerine (from Palm oil) (see more below) which is proven to lock moisture into the skin, meaning our soaps moisturise while gently cleansing your skin. They are very mild, having a pH of around 7 which is neutral. Our soaps contain the very finest perfume oils which means they leave your bathroom smelling fantastic, even when they are not being used. Why not treat yourself and find out how good they really are?

IMPORTANT – 11/12/15 – Palm Oil – Today Mark has spoken with Bomb regarding the use of Palm Oil in their soaps.  He explained his position as founder of SAV and the fact that we have campaigned against forest destruction to make way for new oil production areas.  Bomb have assured us that as per their ‘Animal Testing’ statement above (red), they are completely against using any supplier who is involved with forest destruction and the problems this brings with orangutans and environmental destruction etc.  When necessary, currently existing trees that are used by their oil supplier are automatically replaced with new stock at the same site; thus ever preventing more forest areas being taken up.

MFA Exposes MFA Exposes Criminal Animal Abuse at Perdue Farms

MFA 2

The following is a copy of the letter sent by Nathan.  Please make sure you watch the video (even only once – which shows all the animal abuses) and then please sign the petition – thank you – after all the different expose work undertaken by MFA at different animal facilities; if people still want to eat meat then there is no real answers for them – this is all just clear animal abuse which goes completely against the ‘animal welfare’ crap which these places put out to their customers.

Watch the video  and see the realities ! – thanks, SAV.

Dear Mark,

The images are heartbreaking, and stomach-turning. A new Mercy For Animals undercover investigation into Perdue Farms has uncovered disturbing cruelty to animals, including a worker stomping chickens to death, and violently kicking birds and throwing them against walls. Our hidden camera also exposed thousands of chickens crammed into windowless sheds forced to live in their own waste and toxic ammonia fumes.

Bred to put on weight faster than their bodies can withstand, most of the birds have problems walking and many succumb to heart attacks. Before going to slaughter, they are grabbed by their legs and violently thrown into crates, suffering broken bones and other injuries. As a result of MFA’s breaking investigation, a Perdue Farms worker has just been arrested and charged with four felony counts of criminal cruelty to animals. This is a historic and groundbreaking legal move on behalf of birds raised for meat.

But we won’t stop there. Now we’re calling on Perdue—one of the largest poultry producers in the country—to stop paying lip service to animal welfare and implement meaningful policies and oversight at its facilities to end the worst forms of animal abuse.

Please, take a moment to sign our petition calling on Perdue to stop torturing chickens. Then please share the hidden-camera video with friends and encourage them to take action too.

And remember, each of us can vote for a kinder world every time we sit down to eat by choosing humane vegan alternatives to chicken and other animal products.

Sincerely,

Nathan Runkle President.

Target: Justin Trudeau, Prime Minster of Canada

Goal: Free the activist who gave water to slaughter-bound pigs.

Anita Krajnc faces up to 10 years in prison for giving water to dying pigs. Her kind offerings are the only comfort the pigs receive before they face an inhumane death behind slaughterhouse doors. Urge Prime Minster Justin Trudeau to stand behind Krajnc and encourage the Ontario Court of Justice to drop the charges.

As a co-founder of Toronto Pig Save, Krajnc participates in daily vigils outside of a local slaughterhouse. The area has come to be known as “Pig Island.” Every day, truckloads of pigs pass through these roads on their way to slaughter. They are crammed into a small metal truck bed and exposed to the elements without consideration of their comfort. The pigs are denied food and water during these transports and suffer in the hot sun. On especially hot days, Krajnc gives water to the thirsty pigs. When the Van Boekel Hog Farms’ slaughterhouse truck stopped, Krajnc saw the pigs suffering and took action. Unfortunately, the truck driver did not approve and filed a police report that same afternoon.

Now, Krajnc faces a criminal mischief charge that carries a $5,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison. This is unacceptable. Sign below to demand that Prime Minster Trudeau stand behind this compassionate activist and encourage the dropping of all of her charges.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prime Minster Trudeau,

Anita Krajnc is facing up to 10 years in prison for her compassionate care of animals. Her only crime is giving water to a truckload of pigs on their way to slaughter. We demand that you stand in support of Krajnc and encourage the Ontario Court of Justice to drop the charges.

Krajnc is a co-founder of Toronto Pig Save. This organization stands vigil outside of slaughterhouses and comforts the animals before they go to their deaths. Pigs arrive in large metal trucks and are exposed to the hot summers and freezing winters. They are not provided with water or food during this journey. If not for Krajnc and her fellow activists, the pigs would be deprived of these small comforts before their inhumane death behind the slaughterhouse doors.

Compassion should not be rewarded with a prison sentence. We demand that you stand behind Anita Krajnc and encourage the Ontario Court of Justice to drop the charges.

Sincerely,

Newborn puppies buried alive in China given new lease of life by Animals Asia

10 December 2015

A group of six puppies that narrowly escaped death after being buried alive in China have been given a new lease of life by Animals Asia.

Our vets originally stepped up to help the puppies and their mother who were rescued and cared for by students after being buried alive on a university campus in Lanzhou, western China.

They’re now set to be rehoused with owners in the US and UK.

The tragedy of the mixed breed puppies caused widespread controversy after the story appeared in the international press. According to media reports, a group of security guards at Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics had buried the stray dogs alive.

A group of students heard dogs barking and, on closer investigation, saw an area of freshly laid turf. They started digging and found the helpless pups, who were thought to be just five weeks old as they were still suckling on their mother, named ‘Bear’.

Chinese media reported that the students, who did not wish to be identified, then cared for the dogs – hiding them in a nearby house and regularly bringing them meals.

The brilliant Jill with one of the pups

Jill Robinson, CEO and founder of Animals Asia, took up the story:

“As soon as we were alerted to the story our Cat and Dog Welfare team, based in China, contacted Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics to try to track down these incredible young people and the dogs.

“We managed to find them and made contact. Since the rescue in September the students have been taking it in turns to feed Bear while she fed her own pups. We helped by providing dog food and bedding and advising on their care.”

Without round-the-clock supervision, four of the seven puppies went missing in the weeks that followed, although one was later found again.

Jill said:

“Thankfully, Bear and her remaining four puppies are now living at our sanctuary in Chengdu, along with two other puppies the students rescued after they too had been buried alive.

“They’re all currently awaiting rabies vaccinations, neutering and other medical checks, and in the new year will start new lives abroad.

Lord Robin Russell, one of our long time supporters in the UK, contacted us after his wife Lady Stephanie Russell read the story, and he then offered to pay for the dogs to be cared for and rehomed in the UK and the USA, utilising our expertise on the ground to make that happen. Lord and Lady Robin Russell are also expected to adopt Bear and are helping to find homes for the pups.

“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to them for their help and financial aid in making all this happen and making it a happy ending for these traumatised puppies”.

Stray dogs are seen as a problem in China and, while there’s a growing generation of dog lovers in the country, many are still seen as pests. This is because of concerns over rabies and irresponsible dog ownership, for example abandoning dogs and failing to sterilise cats and dogs resulting in over population.

Animals Asia’s Cat and Dog Welfare team met with officials at the Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics, to offer advice on animal welfare and dealing with the issue of stray dogs on campus more humanely.

Jill said:

“The university representative was himself shocked by the incident and said they do not condone animal cruelty – indeed, as an education facility they feel they should promote the concept of caring for all living creatures, and to this end they are investigating the incident to ensure such a thing never happens again.”

The university did, however, express concern for the problem of stray dogs and the long-term potential risks, and agreed to educate and encourage students not to keep pets on campus. In addition, students have welcomed Animals Asia’s offer to neuter and sterilise stray dogs on campus. This will effectively control and reduce the number of strays, and soften the temperament of those remaining, further reducing any health risks to students.

Jill continued:

“China is often in the headlines for questionable practices regards animal welfare, but it is important to recognise that a great many people in China are kind, compassionate and dedicated to caring for animals. These students, and the staff we met with, are no exception. They acted swiftly to rescue the puppies and then dedicated time and effort to caring for them, so we hail them as heroes for their actions. They are a credit to the university and to all animals.”

Grateful thanks to the whole team involved:

USA: Urgent – Like Us, Please Donate To Save America’s Wolves.

USA1

wyoming wolf

Dear Mark, It all comes down to the next few days.

If far-right politicians get their way in Congress, many of our nation’s wolves will face constant pursuit, maiming and even violent deaths at the hands of hunters and trappers.

These politicians are sneaking wolf-killing “riders” into must-pass spending bills — and we need your help to stop them. With a vote expected to happen as soon as Friday, the Center is pushing hard to head off these poison pills, organizing our nearly 1 million members and supporters to speak out to Congress and tell them to drop this wolf-killing legislation.

We’re facing stiff opposition.

In Wyoming, if Rep. Cynthia Lummis succeeds, her rider would bring back shoot-on-sight rules that set no limits on wolf killing across much of the state. In the Great Lakes region, where 64 percent of Michigan citizens voted last year to end wolf hunting, the rider backed by newly-minted Speaker of the House Paul Ryan would ignore the people and jump-start organized hunts using neck snares and trained dogs that could decimate the wolf population.

This is not how democracy or wolf conservation should work. These kinds of fights take enormous resources, which is why a generous advocate has offered to match your contribution on behalf of wolves when you give before Dec. 31.

Please help by donating to the Endangered Species Defense Fund today.

We know from experience that when federal protections are yanked, wolves die and decades of recovery work come to a screeching halt. The Center and our allies won reprieves from these death sentences in many states, but if these riders pass, vicious wolf-killing campaigns will resume in Wyoming, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Oregon, Washington, Utah and Colorado could follow suit, eliminating safe havens for wolves one by one.

Please help us stop the killing by donating to the Endangered Species Defense Fund today.

The Center has made saving wolves a top priority for decades — leveraging science, law and activism to win a string of victories in court and Congress for their protection. Now we’re facing a whole new level of animosity as lawmakers commit themselves to ending wolf protection.

With your support, we’ll organize our lawyers, scientists and activists in Washington and across the country to oppose this deadly agenda. With the Center you can secure a future for America’s wolves and other wildlife on the brink of extinction, ensuring their protection, securing safeguards for their habitat and fighting off attacks by those looking to weaken the Endangered Species Act.

The enemies of wolves want to see them wiped out across most of the country for the second time in a century. The endgame is on.

Please donate as generously as you can to the Endangered Species Defense Fund. For the wild,

Kierán Suckling

Executive Director Center for Biological Diversity @KieranSuckling

Please give also if you are able – thanks – SAV.

December 08, 2015

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your generous contribution to the Center for Biological Diversity’s “Endangered Species Defense Fund”. Your tax-deductible gift will help our fight to defend the rare and valuable wild plants, animals and places we all love, as well as uphold the Endangered Species Act.

Your gift will be matched by another generous donor who shares your concern for protecting Earth’s precious biodiversity, making your gift especially powerful. For more than 25 years, the Center has tackled some of the most difficult and challenging environmental problems facing our planet and the future of life on earth – attacks on our bedrock environmental laws, climate change, population and sustainability issues, habitat loss for species, and pollution of the air, land and water that all life on Earth needs to survive.

Thanks to the loyal and generous help of our members, we’ve been able to safeguard nearly 600 imperiled species and close to a half a billion acres of wild habitat. Your help gives us the power to make a difference for the future of the planet by taking action in the courts, on the ground and in local communities.

Together with your support, we move forward with a wild and powerful love for the beauty, diversity and mystery of life on this planet.

Sincerely,

Kieran Suckling, Executive Director.
