Hello, friends,
You will probably know that hen harriers, scarce in England anyway, have been disappearing lately in mysterious circumstances. They have a taste for grouse – which could be significant. You might have heard about their plight also on Spring Watch.
You might also have signed the Ban Driven Grouse Shooting petition (now closed, but there could be another one).
That ‘s the background. Last year, a Hen Harrier Day was held in Staffs. near to August 12, the Inglorious Twelfth.
This year, there will be at least one other such event on August 9.
