My cat, Blanquita, is not beautiful, I must admit it!
She came as third member to my other two animal partners, Cordino and Papardella, two pure Siamese findings from the “Rescue service for animals”, two cats with incredible beauty and wonderful character.
These were saved narrowly by a field with asparagus, where had been tossed in the winter by 10 degrees below zero, being both just fourteen days and almost dead.
Although they had (and still have) serious harm with their health, many people wanted to get them. But the rescue service (with which I had previously worked in the past because of wild animals) asked me to I take them, to avoid anyone abusing them for breeding.
Blanquita had a similar biography, but no one wanted Blanquita, because she was not beautifull.
My oldest cat Caruso was just dead, with 18 years, and I decided to add in my family a third, new partner. I told the organisation, this time I would decide alone.
They agreed.
When I entered in the room I saw just about seven cats, the most of them were breed cats.
In one corner I saw Blanquita, white with grey dots and a vulgar brown “curtain” over her left eye, which reduced her aesthetically very much.
Immediately she came near me, fell back, put her foot of my hair and whispered to me something, that nobody else listened, except me: “take me from here, and you will see that we will be happy together”!
And so it happened!
Since then, Blanquita and I are inseparable, I can not even go to the toilet without her.
The dedication, loyalty, gratitude are the feelings that offer all the animals, when they feel loved.
My Blanquita has given me all this with an excessive generosity.
Very early she understood that she could not win the competition with Cordino and Papardella, in relation to the interest of our visitors.
All show interest for the beautiful and so Blanquita remains unregarded, though she does everything to be noticed.
That`s why she has adopted the tactic of surprise.
She rises on one of the wooden beams, that support the roof of the mill (where I live and have specially constructed for my animals) and starts to relay races and acrobatics up and down.
Many people do not like this, because with an animal jumping over their head they feel at risk. But this is exactly what oblige them to deal with her.
When they show enough interest, Blanquita goes down again and honour all very generously for their attention!!
Recently, a colleague visiting me told us:” I cannot understand, what you find about this animal, and you have such an affection for her”!!
“Since I have Blanquita,” I told him, “I have a special affection for ugly beings. That’s why you are also sympathetic to me”!!!
He did not visit us anymore.
Luckily!!
Because Blanquita and I tolerate the ugly faces but not the ugly characters.

I just signed the petition “Investigator Speaks Out: Tell the Mexican Government to Stop Abusing Animals” and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.
Our goal is to reach 35,000 signatures and we need more support.

Petition wording:
I visited government-owned-and-operated slaughterhouses across Mexico and was horrified by what I saw.
Pigs were hooked in their mouths, stabbed in their necks, and then left to thrash around and slowly die in their own blood.
Cows were tied up by their horns and limbs. Rendered defenseless, they were stabbed in the back of the neck, over and over again. Workers twisted the knives, digging deeper into the animals’ flesh, causing excruciating pain.
At one facility, a child was encouraged to watch and then to participate in the bloodbath. With a large blade, he stabbed a pig, but completely missed the animal’s heart. The pig thrashed and struggled in agony before a worker viciously bludgeoned him to death with a metal pipe.
All of this was done by government employees and often in front of government inspectors.
It’s time for stronger laws in Mexico to help prevent this egregious animal abuse.
Please join me and Mercy For Animals in calling on the Federal Government of Mexico to pass legislation making it a crime to slaughter animals while they are still conscious.
This is a common-sense measure that would greatly alleviate the suffering of millions of animals a year in Mexico.

They are now on their way to a new life of freedom !
Six bears have lived for years on a Vietnamese bile farm – we’re desperate to get them “home for Christmas” and the happiest new year of their lives.
One bear is in a very bad way, with claws growing into his pads. He has also lost two thirds of his tongue at some point !
But the team are working hard as always to make the best of things in the very early days; and once at the rescue sanctuary, full time care and attention can be given to them.

We at SAV have looked into German hunting issues quite a lot in the past. Many of the photographs in this particular post are from our own files; as undertaken by ‘D’ in Germany. Please read the excellent info from Venus in this post which is a current, personal feel.
At the end are several links to some of our main articles from the past. Sorry but many of the pictures are very bad – but that is the actual reality of hunting; and we make no apologies for showing animal abuse in such detail. The psychopaths who call themselves “hunters” in Germany are about 361,000. 0.4% of the population kill 5 million wild animals each year, creating a bloody reality in the forest, from which most people have no idea. 5 million animals every year – that is 13,700 every day, 570 per hour, almost ten animals per minute. Every six seconds, an animal is killed in Germany by the hands of a hunter.
The fox is the most hunted in Germany. In fact, there is no more a protection time for the fox.
600,000 foxes are shot in Germany every year! The three” hunters” reasons for this: rabies, fox-worm, exterminating important breeders (birds, etc ..) The rabies is eradicated and the probability of infecting by fox-worm t is far less than a 6 in the lottery. Foxes are not just carnivores, foxes eat everything. To this extent, foxes cannot eradicate any animal species.
But no one talks about animals that are endangered by extermination (lynx, wolf, badger …) for which the hunters alone are responsible.
So what are the real reasons for the fox hunt? From the various journals, we read: “Lust for reenactment and heritage,” “Waidmann’s joy to roll a fox in a shot-shot,” the “charm of the winter fox hunt” Hunting-Fever “and” Kick “, is what the hunter-psychopath experienced during the fatal shot. Our European neighbors Luxembourg is much more rational with the fox hunting. And forbade them. In Germany the huntsmen are composed of quite high strata. Lawyers, doctors, judges, city administration Officials are hunters.
It is no wonder that trials against hunters always fall into the hands of the hunters In Germany there is a saying: “who is rich or hunters is always in the right”! Our opponents in the fight against hunting are, therefore, rich, influential persons who are protected by politics. But the majority of the population is in Germany against hunting.

Project aim
Fur for Animals
We are an anti-fur group. Funding will pay for a global competition to find great new social media messages spotlighting fur’s cruelty.
We are Respect for Animals and we campaign every day against the cruel and unnecessary fur industry – an international trade that kills 100 million animals every year.
Our original award-winning ‘Dumb Animals’ poster and cinema advertising led to the exposure of the cruelty of the fur trade and prompted society’s rejection of fur wearing in the UK.
We now plan to launch a new global ‘fur for animals’ campaign using effective social media messaging to raise awareness that fur is cruel and buying fur perpetuates animal suffering.
We will work with the world’s TOP design and creative colleges and sponsor a global competition to produce a new ‘Dumb Animals’ campaign fit for the 21st Century. The world has changed since the first wave of anti-fur campaigns and so has the way and where fur is sold.
We need to evolve and step up our campaign. With your help, we can.
