An eyewitness recently took photos of emaciated horses who are used to carry heavy tourist gear in Havasu Canyon, an offshoot of the Grand Canyon. The horses are in such bad condition that their ribs protrude. The eyewitness also saw exhausted horses struggling under the weight of overloaded packs.
The abuse endured by the horses, donkeys, and mules used as pack animals in Havasu Canyon is long-standing and severe. They’re forced to carry overloaded packs while being denied water, food, and rest. Eyewitnesses have even reported that horses have been forced to work with broken bones.
Please help by clicking the link below to urge tour company Arizona Outback Adventures to stop using animals to carry tourist gear.

Compulsory microchipping to improve horse welfare
A new law requiring horses to be microchipped has been introduced today to prevent abuse and improve welfare.
A new law requiring horse owners to microchip their animals has been introduced today to prevent abuse and improve welfare.
Earlier this year RSCPA released figures that showed that they rescued around 1,000 horses in 2017, to highlight the issue of horses being fly-tipped or dumped, often in horrific conditions.
From October 2020 it will be mandatory for all owners to microchip their horses, ponies and donkeys. The new Central Equine Database will then allow local authorities and police to track down the owners of dumped horses and make sure they are punished and the animals are given the care they deserve. It will also mean lost or stolen horses will be reunited with their owners more easily.
Lord Gardiner, Animal Welfare Minister, said:
The government shares the British public’s high regard for animal welfare and it is completely unacceptable that hundreds of horses and ponies are left abandoned every year by irresponsible owners.
That is why we have today laid new regulations in Parliament requiring horses to be microchipped. This will bolster the ability of local authorities and police to identify abandoned animals, ensuring these beautiful creatures receive the care they deserve and that those who mistreat them will face the consequences.
The Central Equine Database logs all domesticated horses, including those required to be microchipped by October 2020. This will offer a practical solution to the pressing animal welfare issues which arise when horses are abandoned, making it easier to rehome the animals more quickly and effectively and has been welcomed by charities such as the RSPCA.
We are working closely with vets and the British Horse Council to highlight the change in regulations, explaining that horse owners have until October 2020 to make sure that all horses are microchipped. This extra time will allow horse owners to combine microchipping with a routine visit to, or from, their vet with the procedure costing around £25-30.
RSPCA Assistant Director of External Affairs, David Bowles said:
We are delighted regulations to ensure horses of all ages should be microchipped are set to become a reality.
The RSPCA rescued almost 1,000 horses last year (2017), and a huge majority were not microchipped making it virtually impossible to trace the owners. Heartbreakingly our inspectors are frequently faced with horses which have been dumped whilst very sick, dying, or sometimes even dead.
We believe this extension of the current rules on compulsory microchipping will go some way to help find those irresponsible owners that abandon their horses as well as helping owners be reunited with their animals that have been stolen.
If horse owners do not microchip their horses by October 2020 they could face sanctions from their local authority including a compliance notice and, as a last resort, a fine of up to £200.
Jeanette Allen, Chair of The British Horse Council, said:
This new legislation has the full support of the British Horse Council. We have been working closely with Defra and this achieves the important step of requiring all equine animals to have a microchip.
This is a huge advance for the UK’s horses, ponies and donkeys. It will not only enable irresponsible owners to be held properly accountable for the treatment of their animal, it will also aid in reuniting owners with lost or stolen horses and significantly supports the UK’s efforts to protect our equines from disease outbreaks.
The regulations for this database were laid in Parliament today and, subject to parliamentary approval, will come into force on 1 October 2018. They are similar in nature to the legislation which requires all dogs to be microchipped.
Mark worked with television comedy scriptwriter Carla Lane for many years; and had the position of investigator for her animal charity throughout the years of horse export investigations.
Through undercover investigation work, visits to UK horse markets, and trails in Europe, it was shown that horses were being exported from the UK whilst being declared as ‘going for riding’. In reality, the animals were being exported to Europe for their meat. What was declared on the export licenses was a complete and utter lie to get around the complexities of exporting sentient animals for one thing when they were actually going to their deaths !
After all the investigative work was completed and documented, the pair teamed up in London one day and made formal presentations to the UK Government Ministry – DEFRA (previously MAFF) about all the investigation work.
Carla.
26/6/2019. This is something that we very much welcome. Some people always find a way of circumnavigating the law and it will be the case here always; but; in general; this legislation should make it harder or the illegal movement of beautiful horses who as we have found, in the past, are NOT going for the reasons that is declared on their official paperwork.
In the early 2000’s horse export undercover work took up a lot of time. Possibly I will give a bit more insight into this in the near future. Mark.

The shrinking brain mass of the German Hunting Association has again produced an abstruse video.
The moving images come as plump sect propaganda à la Scientology to motivate its own members, these with brain damage, and is hardly intended for the general public.
The video is a clear proof that hobby hunters know very little about nature, humans and animals. The work gives deep insights into the bizarre world of thought in the militant milieu of hobby killers. At the same time, German Hunting Association President Mr. Hartwig Fischer is asking for tolerance and a sense of reality – a man, who claims to have seen animal rights activists in Germany with banners in front of lions!
What Hartwig Fischer does not mention in the medie is, who probably commits the majority of serious criminal offenses in our society: It’s his members!
Since 2001, documents the initiative for the abolition of hunting, the victims of hunting accidents and crimes with hunting weapons. Also, in 2017, reports about people shot dead by amateur hunters or victims of hunting accidents shocked the public: in all, at least 31 people died in Germany only.
Quotation Hartwig Fischer: “We hunters live by and with the nature, hunting is an original gentle use.”
Other grouping, with a similar illness, could say for example also: “We pedophiles live of and with the children, pedophilia is an original gentle use.”!!!
The healthy Common sense, meanwhile, has already recognized, that such a thing is neither a gentle use for animals nor for children, because both, children and mammals, are sensitive beings, in an evolution, which the hobby-hunter misunderstood.
This has to do with the fact, that brain anomalies are strikingly found in hobby hunters. Violence leaves traces in the brain after a short time.
Neuropsychologists confirm: The amygdala, a core area in the brain, is conspicuously regressed or disturbed by violent people, such as amateur hunters.
If this central part of the brain (feeling sorting office) is defective, disgusting is among other things eliminated. This can be determined beyond doubt in conversations and acts with hobby hunters in everyday life.
Relevant militant hunter magazines are full of pictures of hunters holding a weapon in their hands and posing in a dominant position over their victims. Such magazines stimulate the imagination of amateur hunters to want more and more hunting, even in all men’s countries. Such photographs and films need amateur hunters to feel important.
If man used to hunt in times of need, even though humans are not meat eaters according to his genetics, then Mr. Hartwig Fischer, the president of the German Hunting Association, should confess to himself, that we no longer live in the Stone Age, instead of trying to sell the public as stupid with ridiculous comics.
And now to the video.
It’s in German, but fortunately only 2:16 minutes, so I was able to translate the whole thing.
The propaganda has only one goal: to convince that animal rights activists demand the absurd. Where it does not exist, they invent it.
This video is only intended for people with brain damage, as Carl Sonnthal (from the society “Wild bei Wild”) writes so beautifull!
The title of the “German Hunting Association Video” is: the dark side of the animal rights!!
(First topic: rescue dogs and pets).
Bello, the rescue dog is a hero!
He has already saved many people with his sensitive nose.
But!! The animal rights activists say that Bello is suffering
To rescue people, the dog is forced.
Therefore, the animal rights activists want to write the so-called animal law in the constitution.
(Second topic: pets)
Millions of cats live in German families,
to the delight of humans and animals.
But!!! in the opinion of animal rights activists, these animals suffer
And are held against their will
The keeping of pets should therefore be prohibited !!!
(Third topic: blind)
When Mr. Müller wants to cross a street
Is that dangerous for him, as a blind man!!
Yes! he has his blind guide dog Rex
Who stands by him in such situations.
Together with his partner Rex, Mr. Müller manages to safely cross every street.
But!!! in the opinion of animal rights activists
Let’s force Rex to help him against his will.
They therefore want to ban the use of animals
(Four topic: Hunt! – And we are at 1:10 minutes)
In nature the laws of eating and eating have been used since time immemorial.
But!! Even for “King Leo” make the animal rights activists no difference
And thy ask from him don`t hunt animals!
And so that the lion does not starve
the animal rights activists want to reprogram it genetically on a vegan diet NO JOKE!!
(five topicr: meat eating and we are at 1:36 minutes)
Also people who eat consciously
With even caught fish
With venison from local hunting
Or with their own honey and eggs
Should be transformed from animal rights activists to vegans
Because even honey production is animal cruelty
And so, the animal rights activists, instead of meat, cheese and honey demand a vegan diet for everyone-by law!
(Moral conclusion)
Instead of all these things should be respect and responsibility
Determining the coexistence of humans and animals
That means: accepting the diverse nature of animals and humans
More is not needed for a good life together!!

On the 19th of June 2018, we received a sad message from the Peth Zoo (Australia) via the media:
“Puan”, the world’s oldest known Sumatran orangutan, died at the age of 62.
The ape lady had to be euthanized because of old age. Since 1968, the female lived in the zoo of Perth. She arrived in the Perth Zoo in 1968 as a gift from Malaysiaand lived in the Perth Zoo for 50 years!!
Puan reached an advanced age for an orangutan.
At age 62, monkey-lady Puan has had a long life, as orangutan’s seldom reach such a high age in the wild.
“It’s always hard to make such an animal choice, but it’s a dignified end to the old lady, who wanted to be treated with respect throughout her life,” said Holly Thompson, head of the zoo’s primate department.
The ape lady leaves “an incredible legacy,” said the director Holly Thompson.
Thanks to a breeding program Puans genes are represented in almost ten percent of the world’s zoo-orangutan population.
Even zookeeper Martina Hart, who has been looking after Puan for 18 years, regrets the death of the animal. “Over the years, Puan’s eyelashes have turned gray, their movements slow and their thoughts confused,” she told the local newspaper “The West Australian.” “But she has always been the quiet, dignified matriarch we knew her.”
Monkey lady leaves many offspring
Throughout the years, Puan has provided some offspring. According to Thompson, their genes are found in nearly ten percent of Sumatran orangutans living in zoos around the world. A part of Puan’s offspring was reintroduced into Sumatra (Indonesia) – most recently her great-grandson Nyaru. Of the critically endangered species, according to the WWF, only 14,000 animals still live in Sumatra.
The zoo administration suspects that Puan was born in 1956 in the jungles of Sumatra. Two years ago, the ape lady had made it the world’s oldest orangutan of its kind in the Guinness Book of Records.
I thought long and hard about which flag belongs to this post.
Puan was born in Sumatra’s jungle.
She was snatched from her family as a small child, and was deported with 12 years as slave from Malaysia to Australia`s Peth Zoo. (That is called “gift” in the zoo language).
She lived as a slave in the Australian zoo for 50 years.
Where does Puan belong?
Which is her country?
We don`t know that, Puan either.
We only know who their slaves holder were.

I just read it on a web page, and I immediately thought, “The editorial has made a mistake, it cannot be that 4 million animals are dying of hunger and another 70 million will be slaughtered so as not to die of hunger”!
The following happened in Brazil:
Daylong truck driver strikes have in May 2018 plunged Brazil into chaos.
The point at issue was the rising diesel prices, meanwhile the situation is normalizing.
The largest economy in Latin America is the world’s leading exporter of soybeans, sugar, coffee and poultry. Farmers and traders could not bring their supplies into the key ports during the nine days of the strike, the damage goes into the billions.
Because the food industry is prepared to slaughter and process 21 million chickens and 150,000 pigs daily!!!
According to the Confederation of Agricultural and Pecuária do Brasil (CNA), producers have lost 6.60 billion reais (1.76 million US dollars) by Tuesday (29th).
The estimate only reflects the damage to the primary sector, the losses of agricultural processors are not taken into account.
The strike had devastating effects on the breeding animals.
Over forty million chickens have died because no food supply has arrived. More than seventy million of the animals were slaughtered, they began to eat each other.
Here ends the report of the newspaper, no one has written comments!!
My thoughts:
Everywhere is death and suffering, everywhere and today, more often than ever, animals experience the Holocaust, made by human hands.
And we humans, do not even register the consequences of annihilation, the crimes.
Nowhere have I read a commentary on this targeted unprecedented mass murder.
In addition: The deforestation of the Amazon has increased dramatically again.
And now the government even wants to dissolve protected areas.
The harvest of soya in Brazil now amounts to 114 million tones. Soy makes up more than half of the cereals harvested in Brazil, followed by feed maize with 94 million tones.
These figures outline a creeping environmental catastrophe. Because the bumper harvest is primarily due to an expansion of soybean acreage. Seven percent they grew within a year – thus grows soybeans in Brazil in an area that is almost the size of Germany!!
More than half of soy goes directly to export.
Anyone who has ever driven through the state of Mato Grosso and has seen nothing but seemingly endless levels of dense soybean plants. More than half of soya goes directly to export to China, Europe and the USA. There, the beans are fed to fattening animals, especially pigs and poultry.
The soybean cultivation in Brazil has already been forced by the left-wing presidents Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff.
Brazil’s new government under Michel Temer, however, is once more relying on the export-oriented agricultural industry. It is planning several laws that would further accelerate the deforestation of the Amazon forest in favor of large-scale farmers, ranchers, and mining companies.
US President Donald Trump has dropped out of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. The Conservative government of Brazil, America’s second largest country and of great importance for the climate, is well on the way to succeeding it.

The BBC is to capitalise on the impact of Blue Planet II by launching a campaign to help people to use less plastic.
The initiative, called Plastics Watch, has the backing of Sir David Attenborough (photo above), who said that he had been astonished by the response to his series in which the carnage caused by plastic in the oceans was highlighted.
The campaign will “provide information and advice to positively enable the British public to help reduce plastic pollution”.
