OPEN LETTER

Submitted by Peter Kemp on Tue, 12/28/2010 – 04:58

OPEN LETTER TO:  THOSE INCITING MURDER UPON JULIAN ASSANGE AND/OR MEMBERS OF HIS FAMILY.

We, among many law abiding citizens of the world deplore and condemn, as applicable, your utterances and writings calling for the extra judicial ie unlawful: kidnapping/assassination/murder/physical harm of Julian Assange, his supporters, Wikileaks workers or members of Assange’s family.

We remind you of the laws in your country and others against incitement, inter alia:

Common law:

In English criminal law, incitement was an anticipatory common law offence and was the act of persuading, encouraging, instigating, pressuring, or threatening so as to cause another to commit a crime….The inciter must intend the others to engage in the behaviour constituting the offence, including any consequences which may result, and must know or believe (or possibly suspect) that those others will have the relevant mens rea.”

 Codified Incitement Law:

(1) Australian Commonwealth
11.4 Incitement
(1) A person who urges the commission of an offence is guilty of the offence of incitement.
(2) For the person to be guilty, the person must intend that the offence incited be committed.

(2) Canada
464. Except where otherwise expressly provided by law, the following provisions apply in respect of persons who counsel other persons to commit offences, namely,(a) every one who counsels another person to commit an indictable offence is, if the offence is not committed, guilty of an indictable offence and liable to the same punishment to which a person who attempts to commit that offence is liable; and

(3) United Kingdom
(1)A person commits an offence if—
(a)he does an act capable of encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence; and
(b)he intends to encourage or assist its commission.

(4) USA
There is no automatic 1st Amendment protection per Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969):

Freedoms of speech and press do not permit a State to forbid advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action

We remind you that while such prima facie incitement by way of utterances and writings may go unpunished in your country, they will not necessarily go unpunished in others, and especially so should you have the courage of your convictions to repeat them in those other jurisdictions.

We ask you respectfully, to contemplate this writing of Mahatma Gandhi:

An error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propagation, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it. Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self sustained.

And that truth is that Julian Assange is no terrorist; he is not a war defined “belligerent” acting against the United States; he cannot ever be a “traitor”to the USA since by definition he is not a citizen of the United States.

And lastly as Ron Paul put it so well:

In a society where truth becomes treason, however, we are in big trouble. The truth is that our foreign spying, meddling and outright military intervention in the post-World War 2 era has made us less secure, not more, and we have lost countless lives and spent trillions of dollars for our trouble. Too often it’s the official government lies that have given us endless and illegal wars resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths and casualties.

Yours Faithfully

Why are the animals dying? Birds, fish wiped out in mysterious deaths

Tuesday, January 04, 2011
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
Editor of NaturalNews.com

(NaturalNews) In the last week, nearly 100,000 fish washed up on the shores of the Arkansas River, dead. Also in Arkansas, thousands of red-winged blackbirds fell from the sky and plummeted to the ground where they were also found dead. The scene repeated itself in Southern Louisiana where 500 red-winged blackbirds recently plunged out of the sky, dead on arrival, and in Chesapeake Bay, thousands of dead fish have begun washing up onto bay shores.

It is common sense to be concerned when the animals around us start dying suddenly and in large numbers.

So far, scientists are dismissing these scenes as common phenomena. They say the fish in Arkansas were killed by “disease” and dismiss any possibility of chemicals being involved. The red-winged blackbirds, after autopsies were performed yesterday, appear to have been killed by “blunt trauma,” but it’s not clear whether that trauma was the act of slamming into the ground or if it was caused by something else beforehand.

Coincidence? Or is there another cause?

While there are many documented cases of birds (and even frogs) falling out of the sky throughout world history, the seeming coincidence of having thousands of birds fall out of the sky while, at the same time, 100,000 fish wash up as dead in the same geographic region demands greater scrutiny. What’s happening in Arkansas that’s killing these animals?

The question becomes even more important when you consider that other animal die-offs are occurring with alarming frequency across North America. Not only are honeybees dying off in record numbers, but now bats are being wiped out, too (http://www.naturalnews.com/022989_b…).

What’s the root cause behind the mass die-offs?

Conventional scientists say it’s all due to “disease,” but they neglect to ask the obvious question: What makes these animals suddenly so susceptible to disease?

Because that answer may be a uncomfortable to the established industries that sell pesticides, or build cell phone towers, or grow genetically modified crops.

For all we know, these 100,000 dead fish are downstream from a field of GMO corn that mutated into something even more deadly than the GMOs we already know. This may not be so far-fetched, actually: Monsanto has a corporate office in Arkansas (in Stuttgart, Arkansas) that’s not too many miles from the Arkansas River (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:A…).

This isn’t proof of anything, of course, but the idea that a whole lot of birds and fish are suddenly dying near Monsanto’s corporate offices should at least get intelligent people asking some serious questions.

Are secret experiments the cause?

The PrisonPlanet.com websites suggests that these deaths may be due to secret government experiments (http://www.prisonplanet.com/is-mass…). This is not as far-fetched as it sounds. NaturalNews has documented the long history of U.S. government experiments on human beings, too (http://www.naturalnews.com/019189.html). Just last year, Obama was forced to apologize to Guatemala for the U.S. medical experiments conducted on prisoners there (http://www.naturalnews.com/029924_m…).

So the idea that the government might be conducting experiments on the weather or on wild animal populations is in no way bizarre. It’s routine, in fact.

Still, more mundane explanations may be valid, too. For the birds, the most likely explanation is that they were somehow struck by a freak hail storm. But if hail struck the birds, that same hail should have also appeared on the ground (birds don’t fly at super-high altitude), and no hail was reported. So the hail theory doesn’t pan out.

The fish deaths are also a mystery: While the scientists say that disease is the most likely cause — because only one fish species washed up dead — that explanation doesn’t hold water. Here’s why:

Animals deaths don’t resemble infectious disease pattern

A virus, bacteria or fungus doesn’t magically and suddenly spread across 100,000 members of one species all on the same day. It takes time for such infectious agents to spread. If disease were the cause, you should have seen a few fish showing up dead on one day, followed by a few more some days later, then a lot more after that, and then finally a much larger mass over the subsequent days or weeks as the infectious agent spread through the population.

Yet that’s not what we saw. Instead, we saw 100,000 fish dying all at once (or very nearly all at once). This is not indicative of infectious disease. Even the CDC will tell you that. Infections don’t time themselves to kill large populations simultaneously. The pattern of death all but rules out infectious disease as the cause.

This pattern is, however, indicative of a poison or some other radical change such as a sharp temperature change in the river. Something changed in the environment — perhaps a rapid depletion of oxygen, or the interference with fish physiology through electromagnetic means. And this points to something other than disease: Perhaps the behavior of a corporation or the actions of a government experiment.

In either of those cases, the truth will almost certainly be hidden from public view. Scientists will be paid off to say it was caused by disease, and the corporate-controlled press will buy it, too. And that’s what people will be told.

But I’m suspicious. When I see animals dying 100,000 at a time and birds falling out of the sky, I begin to suspect much more than just normal in-the-wild infectious disease. I suspect something far more nefarious is afoot, and whatever it is, you have to ask the inescapable question: Is this a trial run of a much larger experiment involving other species? Perhaps even humans?

USA: Take Action to Stop Bison Slaughter in Yellowstone.

Dear Mark,

A tragic slaughter nearly wiped them out more than a century ago. Now some of America’s last wild, genetically pure bison face hazing and slaughter as they leave the safety of Yellowstone National Park — one of the last havens they have left. Please take action now: Urge Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to prohibit the annual ritual of hazing and slaughtering of America’s wild bison.

Each winter, Yellowstone’s bison migrate from snow-covered highlands to lower elevations outside the park’s boundaries in search of food.

But because of an unsubstantiated fear that bison will transmit a disease called brucellosis to domestic cattle, bison face a grim fate: Harassed back into the park where food is scarce; shot on sight; or shipped off to slaughter.

This out-dated and terrible policy continues even though there has never been a documented case of a wild bison transmitting the disease to cattle. Yet over the last five winters, thousands of bison have been needlessly harassed and killed.

Take action now: Urge federal officials to end the slaughter of America’s last genetically pure wild bison.

Your voice can make a difference for some of America’s last wild bison — descendants of those that survived the horrific slaughter of the 1800s. Please take action today and help end their terrible plight.

Together we can ensure that America’s wild bison will be restored to the American West.

Before God all creatures are equal, but According to a Letter From the VATICAN, there is NO PLACE FOR THEM in the CATHOLIC CHURCH.

With thanks to Diana for the translation.

“There is no place for animals in the catholic church”.

ETN Ambassador Maja Princess of Hohenzollern’s annual Christmas letter:

Before God all creatures are equal, but there is no place for them in the Catholic church.

The cruel and brutal treatment of animals is our daily bread in our work for animal welfare. Especially in Southern and Eastern Europe – the catholic-orthodox countries – we experience time and time again how abandoned cats and dogs are left to their fate, without love and care, often victims of hunger, speeding cars or brutal violence. So many of them are beaten, locked up, are kept on a chain all their lives and are abused. Many times, in Spain, I found dogs and cats with their eyes gouged out or their tails or ears cut off; and that is not even speaking of the horrors inside the “Perreras” (killing stations) where hundreds of thousands of animals each year are murdered – often by burning them alive.

Last year we terminated, together with ETN e.v. (http://www.etn-ev.de/) , a dog massacre in Romania, where approx. 300 dogs a day were killed by bashing their heads in with a spade.
Since the beginning of 2004 approx. 10 million stray dogs have been killed brutally in Romania in this and other ways. If the victims were Humans the term “genocide” would certainly be used.

In Italy we fight, in cooperation with ETN e.v., Tasso e.v. (http://www.tasso.net/)  and bmt. e.v. (http://www.bmt-tierschutz.de/) , against the abominable „Canili“, inside which approx. 550,000 dogs and cats are lingering in crammed spaces inside huge store houses where they die slow deaths from injury, sickness, starvation, lack of care and medical attention.

(Please help these animals and sign our petition “Canili”)

Thousands of puppies die in Hungary and Poland because they are bred non-stop for being flogged off cheaply on “rummage tables”. They are torn away from their mothers much too early to be sold on weekly markets in Germany.

Again and again we seek to understand why people treat animals so cruelly.

And indeed we find the cause for the rampant animal abuse and mistreatment in Eastern and Southern Europe within the catholic church. The catholic church explicitely denies animals a soul and any and all claims to care and welfare. The church thus degrades and animal to the rank of an unfeeling object, and that is the way he/she is subsequently treated.

This is why we repeatedly demand of “our” German Pope, who should really be having a different education of the heart when it comes to animals, to finally acknowledge that animals are part of creation and henceforth, and naturally, DO have a soul as we do. If only he’d mention this in one single sentence during his “Urbi & Orbi” speech and gave this message to his priests on their way to their flocks – he could save millions of animal lives. If he wanted to.

Sadly neither the Pope nor the 16 dioceses the ETN e.v. had individually addressed have agreed to cooperating on animal welfare issues or have indeed, given any statement at all concerning the welfare of animals.

Instead we had this reply from the Vatican:

“There is no place for animals in the catholic church”.

A sentence like a punch to the gut and a death sentence for millions of animals.

Perhaps animals would enjoy a different status if they paid church tax.

Although a set of ethics that grants animals rights of their own towards mankind can easily be found in and justified by scripture. We therefore demand of the church to finally take moral responsibility for that which they claim to stand for and defend: equal respect and care for all creatures of the earth, as it is unambiguously laid down in the bible.

When I look into the eyes of my dogs, every single one of whom I have rescued from the clutches of brutal animal abusers, I know for certain that they call a soul their own. With some Humans I am less sure.

Please include our animals in your prayers, and remember them on Christmas Eve – because they are a part of us and enrich our lives in myriad ways.

Sincerely,

your
Maja Princess of Hohenzollern
ETN Ambassador

Wikileaks Reveals U.S. Involvement in Plans to Weaken Sea Shepherd.

http://www.care2.com/causes/animal-welfare/blog/wikileaks-reveals-u-s-involvement-in-plans-to-weaken-sea-shepherd/

On Monday, Wikileaks released documents revealing discussions between U.S. and Japanese officials over plans to weaken Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s anti-whaling efforts.

Sea Shepherd sails the seas every year in an effort to protect whales by interfering with hunts by Japan’s whaling fleets.  The documents leaked to Spanish newspaper El Pais reported Monica Medina, the U.S. representative to the International Whaling Commission (IWC), and senior officials from the Fisheries Agencies of Japan last year discussed stripping Sea Shepherd’s tax-exempt status as a political move to come to an international agreement on the number of whales killed each year.

Japan also wants harsher measures to deal with the alleged “eco-terrorists,” about which Secretary of State Hillary Clinton agreed.

At its meeting in June, the International Whaling Commission failed to reach a compromise between the last three whaling nations and those opposed to it. Since the creation of the IWC, increased opposition to whaling led to the moratorium on commercial whaling in 1986, and later the creation of the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Now, only three of the 88 nations involved, Japan, Norway and Iceland, continue to hunt whales.

Japan could potentially get a legal kill quota if it cuts the numbers killed in the Southern Ocean. Until then Japan continues to use a loop hole in the moratorium, killing whales under the guise of scientific research…in a sanctuary…for whales….where they’re protected by international law.

Providing a legal kill quota to protect whales does not protect whales, it protects whaling. Sea Shepherd is reportedly against anything less than a complete stop to whaling in Antarctica. Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd, stated that the “initial agreement was a betrayal by the Obama administration against the whales.”

Katsuhiro Machida, the director general of Japan’s fisheries agency stated that taking action against Sea Shepherd would be a “major element” in international negotiations on kill quotas. This would be the same fisheries agency that was just called out for taking “gifts” of whale meat from whalers.

Medina said she believed “the US government was capable to prove that the group doesn’t deserve its tax-exempt status due to aggressive and harmful actions.”

“Monica Medina of course had no authority to speak on the issue of tax status because she was not authorized to do so by the Internal Revenue Service or the U.S. Department of State,” said Watson.

Watson said in the past Japan has pressured foreign governments to take action against the group, such as revoking the registration of its ships. Sea Shepherd was audited two years ago, before the discussions leaked in the documents, he said.

“We have had our tax status since 1981, and we have done nothing different since then to cause the IRS [Internal Revenue Service] to change that,” he told the Associated Press.

“No harmful or aggressive actions have been proven against Sea Shepherd and no charges have been filed against Sea Shepherd by Japan or any other nation over the issue of whaling in the Southern Ocean,” said Watson.

The deputy general director of Japan’s fisheries agency was also quoted stating, “the harassment of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society had kept the Japanese whaling fleet from reaching its quotas these last few years,” which really means that Sea Shepherd is, in fact, successful.

Right now Sea Shepherd boats are in the Antarctic Ocean disrupting Japan’s fleet which kills about 1,000 whales every year.

So there you have your tax-dollars at work. No wait, your donations to an NGO working!
